LEXINGTON, Ky. — It looks like John Calipari and Kentucky are going to be in for a fight to land the services of 5-star sensation Zion Williamson. Bill Self and Kansas have the most muscle to knock the Wildcats out of contention for the 6-foot-7, 250-pound small forward who is ranked as high as No. 1 overall in the Class of 2018 by 247Sports, and now the Jayhawks are starting to flex it.
Andrew Slater, a supremely plugged-in recruiting insider for 247, raised eyebrows this week when he changed his “Crystal Ball” prediction for Williamson from Kentucky to Kansas. The Cats had become favorites to land the slam-dunking YouTube star after he and 5-star point guard Immanuel Quickley (a heavy UK lean) openly discussed their desire to play together in college.
Not so fast, Slater tells SEC Country.
“I think Kansas makes sense,” he said, “from the perspective of his relationship with [5-star point guard] Devon Dotson, who may wind up [committing to Kansas] fairly soon, his strong connection to Adidas [Williamson plays on that shoe-company’s AAU circuit] and Kansas’ ability to showcase players like him, as they did with Josh Jackson [No. 4 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft]. He also has a strong relationship with Bill Self.”

Now, for a few key pieces of background information: 1) Dotson, a Jayhawks lean, suddenly joined Williamson’s team for the final week of the AAU season at the end of July. 2) Kansas is the highest-profile basketball program sponsored by Adidas. 3) It is in both the school and shoe company’s best interest to outduel Nike-sponsored Kentucky for top prospects."

Williamson is supposed to be the 2018 top recruit. He played for Addis top AAU team this summer. Now he strongly considering KU. KU shoe and gear sponsor is Addis. W3 probably have Red Wing Clodhopper work boots.

Could it merely be a coincidence that recruits affiliated with Nike-
supported teams seem to migrate towards Nike-sponsored college
programs? These now commonplace practices, along with the
questionable indifference from the NCAA, begs the question of
whether the NCAA truly enforces what they call amateurism, or if
the big money shoe markets are controlling collegiate basketball,
and the definition of the term “amateurism,” in the process.

Fan do you know if we would have a chance at Courtney Ramey from St Louis. Decommitred from Pitino. We were on his final list. If so, nice might prevail. I am not sure how you find a scholarship, but he is a 5 star guard.

Since we have a shoe deal with Kmart, I am hearing spendthrift is the advice. Watermelon seed spitting contest, beer and gravy eating contest, drunken squirrel races, and rasslin match between Greg and fat yellow shirt Courtside bouncer. Rumor has it Oscar will raffle off 3 pair of his designer gruns. There will be a.scrimmage to disco music. We will have drawing for a 2 hr lifetime supply of Call Hall ice cream. The event will end by putting a spot light on Snyder who will wave.

This has been boiling. KU is the premier Adidas school. This kid plays for Adidas AAU. The got a commitment from a big whopper kid from DC recently. Same MO, AAU Adidas team going to KU who is negotiating a 191 million deal with Adidas. Don't tell me Bill Self doesn't at least have one leg in the sewer. By the way Jerrance Howard, the coach arrested for dope, recruited the DC Whopper.
