I wish. But I don't see it happening. We had opportunities within the last 14 games and we didn't even need to be great in there... The Soria 3 run HR allowed plus 4 other games that were tied in the 8th or 9th. Had we gone 3-2 not 0-5...we would have a pulse back on 3.5 gms

But it's 6.5 gms :(

This might happen. The Royals are committed to Mondesi (his natural position is shortstop) and they can opt out on Esky for $500k.

A couple days ago Melky took a couple steps out of the box behind him to stop a fouled pitch, and help Salvy. Hud was pretty bitter then as well.

Duffy won't win the CY because of what guys like Happ and Hamels have done all season, but he should definitely finish top 5. Current AL pitching ranks:

ERA: 1st
WHIP: 1st
Win %: 1st
K/BB ratio: 1st

Not bad for a guy who spent the first 6 weeks as a middle reliever.

The aforementioned moment when Melky chased down the foul ball and tossed it to Salvy was really awkward. Hud said something about not understanding why Melky would do that. Then Phys said, "Its about good sportsmanship. You wouldn't know about that Hud because you didn't have it when you played. Just joking." Phys was clearly joking, but you could tell Hud was probably ticked because he said nothing. There was silence for like 10 seconds and another pitch was thrown before Phys commented about the pitch and they both moved on.
