I guess he wrote an apology to the collegian.

more power to him

I get all my news on Nathan Power from the phog these days.
-
Apparently Kurtis Townsend's headlock made him penitent.

Je suis Nathan

Nathan Power is a cool name.

Stfu, the kid isn't a hero. He's a stupid kid who got carried away.

No one has to think he is a hero to at least recognize that some folks should probably have his back considering all of the idiots (one rhymes with Shmob Pescoe) that think the kid is some threat to the order of things.

they are a disgusting breed, yet they think a shoulder shiver is assault, while nino gets a haymaker elbow to the face(ok in their eyes) and what should be stalking(ok in their eyes).

Watched the game with her last night and all she said was "Jesus, we suck. Congrats. You should storm the court. This was embarrassing." :dunno:

this is fair. they deal with the law a lot, so they are probably right.
-
Law or not, the guy was out of line. Even he has admitted to that.
-
LOL at his apology being one of the headlines on the front page of espn.com right now.
-
Apparently Kurtis Townsend's headlock made him penitent.
Have they identified the Curtis Townsend look-alike yet? Because obviously he would have been suspended by now if it had been him.
-
I haven't really paid attention to most of this but did he mention in his apology us beating KU like constantly now?
-

I think you make a great point. Every Kansas fan I have talked to is way more upset about that. This is a very difficult time for them.

I'm sure us now being the most successful Big 12 opponent against them is getting tough to take. Most wins the last 10 years and the cotitle takes its toll. Plus just #2outof3.

Lol at basketball.

This very minor but public act of battery would negatively impact most peoples' job prospects. However, Samuel Powers here will always be able to find a job in the Wildcat Way Cult.

Spracne is a creep and stalking this kid's family. Really thought he was one of the good ones.

Yeah, okay.

The past few weeks have been enlightening, I just really never pictured Sprac's as being a member of the 0 to butthurt in .8 seconds ku fan type. But here you go.

ku basketball fan cult is very strange

The one thing I do appreciate about my little ku buddies is that they are very Nathan Thurm like in their discussions about court/field storming. I do give them credit for that.

Its up to ku to preserve, honor, and cherish basketball.

Bro, I'm good. If you recall, I was expecting to lose on Monday. What I did not expect is for the post-game narrative to be about the behavior of K-State fans and how it is symptomatic of a bigger problem that needs to be addressed. If I were upset--and I'm not--I would take comfort in the fact that no one is talking about the game itself but rather the behavior of KSU fans afterwards. Here we are two days later, and ESPN has a story on the front page about K-State's contrition. It's like WOW, you've just pulled off the most improbable upset, and you can't even enjoy it because everyone is frowning towards you and giving you stern looks while solemnly shaking their heads from side to side.
-
Seriously though, the kid made a stupid mistake and it's time to move on. It's scary how the internet can pretty much destroy someone's life for doing one stupid thing. He did it, he owned it, now let's stop joking about it. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/15/magazine/how-one-stupid-tweet-ruined-justine-saccos-life.html (http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/15/magazine/how-one-stupid-tweet-ruined-justine-saccos-life.html)

all the butthurt about it makes me enjoy it a ton more

Yes, this has not detracted from my enjoyment at all. If anything, it has drawn more attention to the win.
-
it's like days later and everyone's still talking about how ksu whipped ku's ass for like the 12th year in a row and how mad ku fans are that our fans partied too hard. it's amazing. if ksu had just whipped their asses and gone home quietly it would be a snoozefest because our basketball team sucks either way.
-
It's been pretty great actually. For people that pay attention; the hypocrisy, butthurt and willingness to at least threaten violence over a basketball loss has been enlightening, albeit not surprising. It's really ku one sport/T-Shirt nation at its finest.
-
I was talking to an acquaintance yesterday who is from New York. He's a casual hoops fan who doesn't really know much about K-State but knows they've been struggling this year. His comment to me, completely unprovoked mind you, was "it's like they can't even win without embarrassing themselves."
New York!

All pub is good pub.
My grandpa used to say, "It doesn't matter if they remember you as an bad person or a saint, so long as they remember you."
Everyone remembers him as a huge bad person.
-
Even when K-State wins, they lose. Now the 'taters are trying to heroize a guy who attacked a KU player and made an embarrassment of the entire fanbase. I guess I should have expected nothing less considering what a shitty, hate-filled cult this place has become in recent years.

Everyone remembers him as a huge bad person.
But they remember him. That's what is important.

Then ku fans followed up their non hate filled ways by threatening violence.
Stay classy . . . ku.

I have a friend in Lower Manhattan, big time investment banker cat from an elite east coast private school (I won't say which one, but they are slated to get a 1 seed over ku) who texted me and said "holy crap you guys just keep whipping their asses. Didn't see that coming". This guy sound's way more important than Sprac's friend in Albany.

Who is "threatening" violence, and since when did that become worse than actual violence? I'm consistently amazed at the depths you will plunge in order to defend K-State.

K-State did nothing wrong and doesn't need defending. They just won a basketball game. Jeez. Nathan said he was sorry about bumping into Jamari. What more do you want from him?

We've put countless examples from social media on this board, you've seen them.
ku lost a basketball game and ku player got bumped by a kid half his size and now ku t-shirt/one sport nation has a complete meltdown.
No one is surprised. Meanwhile ku people think it's funny and cute when ku students storm the football field, destroy property while dropping a 1000 pound goal post into a mass of humanity. Sad

That was a goddamned chickenwing and you know it, not just a bump. He clearly has run afoul of the Wildcat Way. I have no problem forgiving him, because that's the Jayhawk Way.

Phog was talking about lynching the guy until a mod deleted the thread. Come on.....Your fans took it to level creepy in a heartbeat just like you do to the tmcats guy.
We aren't saying the guy didn't make a mistake. It's sad to see how KU fans get upset about something minor like this and violence/rapings happen on KU's campus and nobody gives a crap. Warped priorities.

We should probably split the difference and call it a farm bump.

Everyone is clearly just out to get K-State. ESPN, Fox Sports, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Sun-Times, etc, etc. It's just one big conspiracy, and clearly K-State did nothing wrong. Nothing at all.

Call it whatever razzmatazz you want, it is still intentional and unwanted physical contact. Just wanted to say razzmatazz.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning. They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

I've never seen anyone (individual or fanbase) as angry over a loss. This is remarkable.

You really are. I've never heard an "airball" chant filled with so much anger and rage. It was almost frightening.

Clearly USA Today and the entire national media is just out to get lil' ol' K-State.

Is this the tipping point? Is this the end of college basketball court storming as we know it?
If so, we shouldn't be surprised.
The images from Monday night's Kansas-Kansas State postgame at Bramlage Coliseum are jarring.
Kansas coach Bill Self got smushed between the scorer's table and a mob of frenzied Wildcats fans flooding the court after their team had upset the No. 9 Jayhawks. Kansas forward Jamari Traylor was hipchecked by a fan who had zeroed in on him from across the floor. Videos of both incidents went viral.
But, remember folks, the same thing happens during every court storming/field rushing. KU fans (and the entire country) are just butthurt about this one for no apparent reason. Denial... it's not a river in Egypt.

Who would have thought oscar could enrage #BID at 2 programs this year :Woot:

The saddest aspect in all of this is that K-State wouldn't be 14-15 and looking down the barrel of a CBI tourney invitation if their fans and team brought the same energy night in and night out that they bring for their Super Bowl. It's truly a shame that you guys only get excited for one game a year.

I'm sure you're "just trolling" because nobody, literally nobody, can be that gotdam stupid. If every Tom, Dick & Harry with a ku t-shirt hadn't thrown a hissy fit, the media wouldn't frankly give a single eff.
Despite the delusions of grandeur, at the end of the day the rest of the world just sees ku as a bunch of midwestern hayseeds.
Ahhh yes... as we've established by now, multiple times, this is all just one big conspiracy against poor lil' ol' K-State. It's KU's fault that the national media picked up on the hatred and rage spewing from the fans in Manhattan and generated a national story out of it. You are all the victims here.
-
Actually, I think very few K-State people are too upset about it... So, what is this "conspiracy theory" you speak of?
The nation isn't laughing with you & the ku crybabies , beems. They're laughing AT you.
-
I pledge to make February 23rd "Fan Behavior Awareness Day," where we can offer up our thoughts and prayers for Jamari Traylor and remember and reflect upon the tragic actions that occurred on February 23rd, 2015.
-
If every Tom, Dick & Harry with a ku t-shirt Bill Self hadn't thrown a hissy fit, the media wouldn't frankly give a single eff.
I think this is a more accurate statement. Honestly, someone should help Coach Self understand the difference between a chicken wing and a body check. ("Chicken winging" is a much more entertaining verb though.)
-
Is it still a thing at games where the cheerleaders hold up a sign that says "PURPLE" to one side and everyone yells it and then they hold up a sign that says "POWER" to the other side and they all yell it?
If so, do we have any insiders w/the cheerleaders that could get the PURPLE sign changed to NATHAN?
-

Great idea. I heard that Traylor is going to pull through. But the psychological scars will never go away.

Hell, even Holly Rowe and Fran Fraschilla mushed Andy Katz in his fat face when he tried to pile on yesterday. I just hope you all recover from the horror and psychological damage done from seeing the court storming. T's & P's

It's really amazing that you've taken the time to put this list together. You're clearly very upset, but respectfully, I think this may be your psychological reaction to the humiliation of losing to K-State in our hobby sport yet again. I'm also pretty sure you're the only one raving about a "media conspiracy theory." It's a newsworthy event that'll be forgotten by all but KU fans in less than a week. A K-State fan did something stupid, harmed nobody, and apologized. The university even apologized for the actions of this one fan. I'm not sure what additional validation you're looking for. Nobody on here is condoning what the kid did - we're mocking how engraged the KU fans are about it.

This very minor but public act of battery would negatively impact most peoples' job prospects. However, Samuel Powers here will always be able to find a job in the Wildcat Way Cult.
I do think this might affect Trayor's job prospects? Was there a chance he'd make an NBA team or play International ball? I'm really not sure if he was but he won't now. You have a 5'9" white kid (not being :opcat: (ftp://:opcat:)) who can't be more than a buck seventy blocking him out with little or no effort. Why can't our players do this? Am I the only one looking at this angle? I honestly feel bad for Traylor's basketball future now but also for most of our players who can't do what this kid did and rebound worth a crap. Shame really. I guess on the bright side we won't have to worry about Traylor attacking/raping an innocent female (or male) on any campus for the rest of his career. Well, anyone who can give a little chicken wing action to the guy if it happens to them I suppose.. :th_twocents: (ftp://:th_twocents:)

Pfft, Self knew what he was doing. How many KU fans are talking about in-game mistakes or leveling the usual insults at the players responsible for the loss? He redirected all that anger to the post-game crowd rush.

It's like WOW, you've just pulled off the most improbable upset, and you can't even enjoy it because everyone is frowning towards you and giving you stern looks while solemnly shaking their heads from side to side.
there is no problem and nothing needs to be addressed. the college game is 125 years old, can you name one time in the past 125 years when court storming has resulted in an injury to a player?

You should contact all of the national media outlets and see why they haven't written anything about all of the stuff that happens at KU. I'm sure this is all just a conspiracy to make K-State fans look bad.
-
they don't care about ku
-
beems you know the administration at ku doesnt release what really happened
-
ESPN has been leading a campaign against court storming for awhile now, it's part of that faux moral outrage thing they do to attract viewers. I don't think many people on this board are that upset about their coverage, because we realize this has very little to do with K-State, and is just an opportunity for a big corporation to seem empathetic for a couple days. You seem to be the one that is continually intimating that we are tearing our clothes at the injustice of it all. I haven't really seen that at all. It's possible that you're constructing a false narrative.
-
I'm pretty sure some of that stuff has been reported by the national media.
This has been fantastic publicity, our AD has been on ESPN, several national radio shows, it's been great.
Pretty much free advertising.
Come to KSU beat KU's ass repeatedly and party rock your face off.

I assume that due to the carnage of court storming that KU will immediately stop rushing the field after football wins, right Beems?

bumping into someone was def worse than all of those
-
I will admit at least 30% of the blame is with KU in this matter. If we weren't so awesome, then the prospect of beating us wouldn't elicit such uncontrollable mania from the unwashed masses in attendance. Still, this incident was a hair away from exploding into a tragedy. Now that Jayhawk Nation has thrown its support behind this effort, I expect waves to be made. Waves of wheat.
-
bumping into someone was def worse than all of those
Yep, unwanted physical contact towards an opposing team's player is completely normal, acceptable behavior, and it's obvious at this point that Nathan Powers and the entire K-State fanbase had every right to act the way they did on Monday night. You guys should be proud of the way things transpired. Congrats on a hard-faught win, and good luck the rest of the season.

How many girls are kissing Nathan this week?
-
I bet Weird Robert is gonna pay Nathan's DisCo ticket.
-
I'm gonna buy my fellow DU frat bro and hero Nathan a case this weekend.
-
Can we quit calling what happened "violence"? I mean, people have been bumped harder walking down the street looking at their phone
And bars. I've been chicken winged several times before but now enough is enough. I'm going to demand a public apology and that that person be banned from all bars for the rest of time.

Do you honestly not see the difference between civilians in a bar and a fan rushing onto the court and bum-rushing an opposing team's basketball player?
Okay, now I'm done. Just had to get that one off my chest.
-
That's a weird last thing to have to get off your chest.

Was anyone hurt?

Why is this guy your hero?
Okay, that was my last one. Seriously done now.
:shakesfist:

I will admit at least 30% of the blame is with KU in this matter. If we weren't so awesome, then the prospect of beating us wouldn't elicit such uncontrollable mania from the unwashed masses in attendance. , I expect waves to be made. Waves of wheat.
sprac this would have been a great post.

He's above the law. He messes with squawks 24/7 and gets away with it every time. I bet he just keeps going to the games after he gets banned. It's not like those stupid security types can stop him.

I already knew that beating them at bball was akin to stabbing them in the soul but 2raight is like eating their souls, crapping it out and flushing down a toilet.

Was anyone hurt?
Oh wow, didn't realize this. From Traylor's wikipedia page:
On February 23, 2015, at the end of a Sunflower Showdown game against Kansas State, Traylor landed awkwardly after being pushed by K-State frat guy Nathan Power and suffered a compound fracture to his right leg which protruded several inches out of his shin.[11] Players and coaches on both teams were visibly shaken at the sight of the injury.[1] While lying on the floor of the court, Traylor repeatedly said, "I'm fine, just find the kid."[1] After being tended to courtside for several minutes, Traylor was carried off on a stretcher and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital of Manhattan.[12] Surgeons inserted a rod into his tibia in a two-hour operation. As the game concluded, Kansas forward Perry Ellis wore Traylor's jersey in a show of solidarity for his teammate.[13]
Many NBA players showed their support for Traylor and shared their sympathies through Twitter, including LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Kevin Durant.[14] Former NFL quarterback Joe Theismann and the Kansas Jayhawks former running back Gale Sayers, who both have gone through the same kind of injury, called to give their support.[15]
-
Shoulder bump = bum rush
-
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning. They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

what if it becomes a regular thing at the OOD? like when we are up and the game is about over then the cameras show nathan on the jumbotron and then the crowd is like "chicken wing! chicken wing! chicken wing!" and then the game is over and then nathan runs out and crowd goes nuts and then he chicken wings all the other team and maybe even coaches!

another idea- we play this super long video of nathan being like in aggieville or something and have him use a ridiculous mode of transportation to get to the OOD. then we play some ozzy osbourne and boom, nathan comes running out of the tunnel dressed up in something and the crowd does their "chicken wing!" thing as nathan just clobbers a random fan dressed up like the other teams mascot at center court while the crowd cheers.

The 1st home football game next year Willie needs to chik'n wing a guy in a Traylor jersey at midfield

If by "clobber" you mean bump into him kind of hard, then that sounds great.

The Butcher of Bramlage.

KSU's reputation permanently sullied.
Already forgotten, except in the dark hearts of butthurt squawkers.
Shrug it off all you want, I just know I would be disappointed and embarrassed if my degree-granting institution was all over the news for this shameful display.
You serious Clark? Why should I be embarassed that one out of hundreds of thousands of kids who have attended my fine alma mater did something dumb? If that were the standard, I think KU alums would be downright mortified.
One kid bumps one of their basketball players: embarrassing for all of Kansas State University
Dead beat dad's, sink batterers, elevator molesters, bb gun attackers, bouncer spitters, drunk drivers and more (all members of the beloved KU basketball team in the last few years): nothing to see here
You should contact all of the national media outlets and see why they haven't written anything about all of the stuff that happens at KU. I'm sure this is all just a conspiracy to make K-State fans look bad.
Again, you're the only one talking about a "conspiracy." The only one.

 I still can't stop laughing at this.
I've never heard an "airball" chant filled with so much anger and rage. It was almost frightening.
-
I want to pay for Nathan's legal fees I have BITB lawyer, but I don't want to support terrorism, this is a pickle.
Really tho Beems compared our fanbase to a terrorist organization that cuts people's heads off and afterwards called us delusional.

To be completely honest, I noticed the same thing, only I relished it. That anger of a K-State crowd is my favorite part.

it seemed like the cadence of the chant was different than my day.

http://themercury.com/articles/city-no-citation-for-court-rusher?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+MercuryMinusObits+%28Mercury+Minus+Obits%29
City prosecutors dropped a citation issued to K-State student who ran into a KU basketball player in February. But the young man will be banned from buying tickets or attending K-State games for the near future.
“It was done at the request of the victim,” Manhattan city prosecutor Matthew Richter. “He was not interested in pressing charges.”
Good Grief, JC:
K-State athletic director John Currie previously said Power would be banned from attending K-State games for five years.
-
He won't actually be banned that long.
-
Maybe it will be like my buddy in HS who tried to steal some condoms from the Lawrence Wal-Mart. They caught him and he was banned from coming in there for two years after that. However, he walked in there the next week, because like, they have no rough ridin' clue who you are after awhile.
-
He just said that to scare people from doing a similar thing in the future.
-
Why do they need the victim to "press charges" in a criminal case when there is clear video evidence? Not that I give two shits about what the violent miscreant did, but I always thought laypeople were a little sloppy with their language in these cases, yet here you have a city prosecutor saying that. I need some attorney cats to set me straight.

Just because he'll be barred from buying tickets, doesn't mean he can't attend games...
Perhaps we at gE should buy our hero something to help him go unnoticed:

A five year ban? If oscar is the coach, he should send Currie a thank you note and maybe some of those delicious Russell Stover candies . . . you know, the kind that they advertise around Allen's Fieldhouse around the 8,000 other advertisements.
Ya, didn't Dax get a longer ban than that just for being a pain in the ass to the AD?

I won’t go so far as to accuse her of flopping, I just think her training kicked in. When there’s contact in the game, you have to sell the contact.
-
To be absolutely fair, I think she was utterly surprised by it, and maybe yes some training kicked it but it was very last second and more people will in a surprise hit look like that than not.

I disagree. When I saw it at full speed I was skeptical but when it's slowed down it looks even more sus. I think she initiated the contact. She extends her arms and pushes the fan in anticipation even.
-
She would have avoided the collision if it had been her home court

Multiple lols and wtfs on this angle.
1. why is clark sprinting like that? ridiculous
2. i like how the fan just kind of gets up, like wtf?, then goes to continue celebrating.
3. Hope the security vest was checking to see if she was ok and not accosting her
4. tOSU player reacts, then sprints over to go check on clark, but security vest shoves her down out of the way
5. on another angle it's pretty clear clark sees the fan and runs harder, straight for her, fan notices and tries to avoid, but clark smashes then proceeds to 360 flop in the most lol manner
-
I've accidentally bumped into people harder than that in the Dillon's produce section and so far nobody has done a ridiculous piroutte followed by a collapse to the floor.
