Guys, this is coming from a guy who doesn't like Star Wars, but isn't there like 40 books or something?  With that much material, why not release something like 40 movies or something.

I mean, adjusting for the lack of Harrison Ford, they can't be much worse than what has already been rolled out there.  :dunno:

I had that conversation with a guy today.  I'm not sure what's supposed to happen now.

I wanted to see Thrawn on the screen.  Same with Mara Jade.

They better keep them in the new movies.

When a huge company is going to buy another company they give that company a codename so they can talk about them and try to keep the news quiet.  At my company the guy leading the charge on an acquisition (must be a huge Star Wars fan) used the codename "AT-AT" for a company we're looking at.  I remember when he announced the code name in a board room full of people.  Everyone looked at eachother like, mmmkay?   :dunno:

FYI, AT-AT is that walking machine the bad people had that killed the Ewoks or whatever.

Hmm... while I do believe there were AT-AT's on the moon of Endor (I believe you see one in the cut scene immediately before Luke meets Vader again on the moon of Endor), I don't believe that there were actually any in the scenes with the Ewoks, only AT-ST's.

AT-AT's were perhaps more famous for the attack on Hoth in the Empire Strikes back.

Sorry for nerding out. :nerd:

Mancattanite is correct. AT-ST's are the bipedal machines, AT-AT's are quadrupeds.

As long as George Lucas isn't the front man, we have hope.  He ruined episodes 1-3.

Giving ANYONE else a shot at leading the creation of more Star Wars films cannot be worse than Lucas' steaming pile of crap on 1-3.

I think they'd go further out than that. There is way too much canon out there that would interfere with the portrayal of Jacen and Jaina Solo.

Threepio could easily be in it though, he's just a droid.

Let me know how the 1-6 viewing goes. I feel like they will understand the characters more that way, but watching 4-6,1-3 makes the origin story of vader mean a lot more...plus the, 'I am your father' moment might lose some flair

I just watched it.  I hope that they explain the fact that there is a storm trooper who does not look exactly like Jango Fett (Boba's dad), because they spent a eff load of time telling us how they all are clones in the last few movies.  I'm sure they will, I mean Han and Luke dressed up like storm troopers that one time.

i think this movie is set pretty far after the return of the Jedi and they only created like a few million clones, so maybe they all died and they aren't all just clones anymore
Clones were used 18+ years prior to the events of Star Wars IV. In SWIV, Luke wanted to join the academy, presumably to become a pilot for the empire. Pretty sure they were taking volunteers at that time.

4, 1, 5, 6, 2 HAVE YET TO WATCH 3. Wanted to go 4 5 6 but lil CF3 wanted to see Darth Maul in action. I've never seen #3 so I'm excited to watch it.

all these jedi in one place seems kinda bad

Ya, was a really bad decision, in retrospect.

this part was so stupid. why not have the clone army arrive WITH the Jedi rather than 4 minutes after them so that like half of them get laser beemed by the droids? Also, the comedic relief of having C3PO have his head pop off and put on a battle droid didn't do it for me.

well you made your kid watch return of the jedi, which has that weird scene with anakin at the end. plus the war's over and the empire or whatever is defeated and there's no reason to go backwards once you've seen the culmination.
you also have to watch #5 right after #4 so you get the DV reveal. then go back and watch the shitty ones, then come back for luke getting to see his dad's face and closure, etc.

i mean this is not brain surgery we're talking about.

The plan was 456,123, but lil CF3 saw a picture of Darth Maul and wanted to watch #1, so the order got all jumbled. He's 5. Story continuity doesn't matter that much.

I doubt they do origin stories that go back to the Old Republic, but there was some really great canon in the video games that detailed the Sith/Jedi conflict back to the origins of the Force.

Most people can see it by YouTube.  That's how I watched it all. it would be cool to see it expanded upon.

2-6 from what I remember were 4/7, 1 is maybe 2/7?

you thought 2 and 3 were better than 1

I'm not even sure that I've seen those. I think I have, but they weren't as outstandingly bad as 1 (that I remember)

why would you stop between 5 and 6??

-you can't watch 6 until you've seen 1, 2, and 3 (because teenage angsty anakin shows up at the end of 6, and also because the end of 6 is a great way to end the whole thing).

-and you can't watch 1, 2, and 3 before 5 (because it would ruin the huge reveal in 5)

-4 is the best way to begin

My five year-old loves this animated show, Lego Droid Tales. It can be pretty brilliant at parodying the Star Wars characters. Luke, for example, is kinda whiny, kinda gay, and you're like, "Yep, that's Luke exactly!"

So, anyway, there's this part where Luke tells Yoda that he learned Darth Vader is his father. Yoda asks how he knows and Luke says that Dark Vader told him. Yoda's response:

Ah.
Yes.
Hmm.
Spilled the beans, he did.

I don't know if it comes across here, but that crap is really rough ridin' funny. KILLS me.

I am going to the Olathe Star Wars first showing at 8pm Thursday, got my family tickets a long time ago, etc.  But, it's not reserved seating.

How early do think I need to be there in order to ensure I get 4 seats together?  I have no idea how nuts this will be.

How willing are you to commit physical violence against someone in front of your (and possibly their) kids?

Lots of great feedback from the team here.  I called the theatre and they said it will be a crap show, and everyone had to wait out in the cold, no inside waiting.

OK, So eff that.  As a result, I just purchased reserved "fork and screen" seats for Saturday night, and will just eat the tix for tomorrow night.

Whew.  Close call.

Question for Star Wars dorks and nerds and dweebs (jk):  How can this movie live up to the hype?  I can't recall a more anticipated movie.  Does it even really need to be very good, or will not sucking balls like those 3 recent ones be enough to satiate you?  Just curious what your expectations are.

I feel like that fact is too ingrained in pop culture to be be valid anymore.  FreundinSonntag swore she'd never seen any of the movies (thought i did find out she'd seen multiple screenings of Ewoks: The Battle for Endor upon seeing an Ewok in RotJ) but watching the first one she says "That guy's Luke's father, right?"

What's with these Star Wars spin-off films that are supposed to be happening? I read that they are supposed to come out in years that don't have a main Episode movie - so that means the first should be in 2016....Shouldn't they be filming it by now?

Rogue One is either filming or in production right now.

There will be two types of Star Wars movies: Anthology and Saga.  The Saga will propel the main story line and set the narrative for the universe (as it always has) and it's been stated that it will center around the Skywalker family, at least for the forseeable future.

Anthology will be stories in the universe, but not necessarily connected to the Saga.  Rogue One will be the story of the team that stole the plans for the Death Star that was referenced in Episode IV.  There is a standalone Han Solo movie that Lawrence Kasdan will help write that will end his tenure in the Star Wars universe.  There are also discussions about standalone Bobba Fett and Obi Wan Kenobi movies, but I'm not sure either of those have been confirmed.

I think I have posted this before on this blog, but you want to hear something kinda mumped up?  When I was a kid, I was raised in a pretty darn religious household, very Lutheran.  Church constantly.  In Lent, we basically lived there, etc.  My folks were/are great people, I had awesome grand parents and aunts and uncles and all that.  Family friends an neighbors were all great people.  All these wonderful influences...

...You want to know what my moral compass really was?

The rough ridin' Force and Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.  I saw the first movie in the theater when I was 3, and from that time until I was about 10 or so, what was "real" to me in terms of "right and wrong" and "good and evil" was basically my little notion of "What would Luke Skywalker and Han Solo do?"  I always felt like I was more like Han in my true nature, but I also wanted to be trained by master Yoda like Luke.  That crap was real to me, man.  And to be like Han and have a buddy like Chewbacca and be best buddies for life and be willing to die for each other and shoot lasers and yell at each other as we fix up the Falcon and fly space ships and save people and say eff you to the Empire.  Holy crap, it was like the greatest thing ever to be imagined.

So, when I had kids, I didn't push star wars on them, but my son really dug it, and that was super cool to me.  But, when I took him to The Force Awakens, and Han dies, and I can see my 8 year old son sitting there with tears rolling down his face and he's trying not to show that he's really hurt...and he turns to me after the movie and says "I can't believe Han is dead" and he has this look of total loss on his face, man I rough ridin' lost it too.  Even now typing this, I kinda want to yell "[redacted]" at the idea of Han being dead.  It's really mumped up that a fictional story can have this much of an impact on me, but there is something about Star Wars that has always had me by the balls, man.  I know it's campy at times, and isn't as gritty as other series, and all that.  But, Stars Wars, man.  rough ridin' Star Wars.   smh.
Title: Re: star wars

Great story, Pete.

I think the thing about Star Wars is that it was, by far, the most resonant story of an entire generation.  For the better part of a decade, it dominated science fiction and pop culture.  There was a heavy overlap between those born in the 60's (teens when Star Wars came out) to those born in the 80's (who grew up watching it over and over on VHS and with action figures).  That entire generation is at least familiar with this story, and a lot of folks are heavily invested.

A lot of those folks are now in the 30-50 range, and they are the ones writing books, making movies, etc.  A huge portion of the most talented writers, directors, and entertainers grew up loving Star Wars.  J.J. Abrams had rebuilt Star Trek and dropped it like a hot potato the second Kathleen Kennedy asked him to take over Episode 7 and become an Executive Producer for the reboot.  Rian Johnson wrote and directed some of the best stuff in Breaking Bad, and he's a huge part of Episodes 8/9.  Some of the most talented and creative folks in the industry, right now, want to be a part of this universe because it's in their DNA like it's in mine, or Pete's, or whoever else ran around their backyard with a stick thinking they were a Jedi in the 1970's and 1980's.

Everything about Star Wars is built on the foundation of Joseph Campbell's study of mythology, and that's what makes it so relatable.  The central themes of good and evil, what makes a hero, anti-hero, villain, etc. are all universally applicable across cultures because it's a story you find in nearly any culture.  It just happens to have lightsabers, droids, and a big, hairy Wookie.

You have this amazing story, in a universe of nearly infinite possibility, that has central themes that connect with people all over the world.  And some of the best artists of our generation grew up on it and want to be a part of it.

It is an amazing time to be a Star Wars fan.  Disney is sparing no expense because they want to do it justice.

I'm just...this makes me so happy.  Episode 7 made me happy, Rogue One looks like it will make me happy, Rebels makes me happy.  It's all just so good.

My only question is why are these Death Stars so easy to blow up?  Aren't they planet sized?  Chewy set like 8 charges and a handful of planes shot it a few times. Of course we don't know much about the charges chewy set, they could have been laser h-bombs or something for all we know.

Also Luke is kind of a dick, right?  He basically sets the galaxy on fire by accidentally creating Vader Vol. 2 and then just takes off. Why?  Because he's embarrassed?  Not cool.

TOPEKA, Kansas – Numerous news outlets are reporting that a portion of the next Star Wars movie will be filmed just outside of Topeka, Kansas. The location in Kansas will represent a previously unknown planet in the Star Wars universe.

Writer and director Rian Johnson is said to have personally chosen the location and will need the help of a large number of extras from Topeka and the surrounding area. Reports claim that a big reason in choosing to film in Kansas is that the state has recently been providing significant incentives to production companies that choose to film in their state.

No other details have been provided so far except that filming is set to begin sometime next year.

The time is set between Episodes 3 & 4. Not after 7. Han Solo and Darth Vader will be in it, but not sure who else.

The people in Star Wars are in a galaxy far, far away. Therefore, they did not evolve in the same environment as human beings that evolved on Earth. Therefore, even though they look similar to you, they cannot possibly have the same DNA as humans from Earth.

This article theorizes that aliens developing on Earth-like planets would be similar to humans with "with limbs, heads, and bodies". Still, evolving separately would cause at least small differences in DNA.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3146196/Aliens-exist-look-like-HUMANS-Life-planets-evolved-similar-way-Earth-biologist-claims.html

Unless you suggest that "humans" on Earth were put here - like in Jupiter Ascending (for farming later) - then maybe they were also put in other galaxies (far, far away).

It was fantastic in how it more or less flawlessly fit with the Star Wars universe and timeline, believably preceding a 40yo movie. That alone makes it a great addition.

But let's be honest, the story was kind of mess. In particular, the Forest Whitaker character and storyline was dumb and ultimately irrelevant. There were also too many protagonists and the leading duo kinda sucked. The blind guy and side kick were ok, but the only really good new characters were the droid and the villain.

This movie feels like there were some problems with the first cut and some hasty rewrites as a result.

Title: Re: star wars
Post by: cfbandyman on December 22, 2016, 04:01:31 PM
One thing ksuw and I can agree on pretty fully. It felt like for me it took a while for the movie to get it's legs under it, but once it did (basically from the landing on the planet with the storms and all the scientist on), it sure as hell did. I just think it took long to establish itself, but at least the foundation ended being a good one.

I liked it a lot more than the 7th movie. Which feels more and more too rehashed from the original star wars, as if it wasn't already. At least this story was surprisingly open minded while having to fit within the constraints of leading into a new hope. Which honestly seems to be the opposite of the The Force Awakens, which seemed incredibly closed and tight except for the end after they offed Han and got Rey to Luke which opens the table up for a lot of new things (hopefully), when they could have done totally new, like not needing to destroy an even bigger "death star" etc. etc.

Agreed mostly with the Forest Whitaker part, I think there is something to be said of there being more than one set of rebels, and some are more extreme than others, but really, it was a small part, and his part in the film really doesn't end up having a lot of bearing on the direction of the story, it's more of a side track.

Solidly the best Star Wars film since Return of the Jedi.

It was stupid when I first watched it. Either she is way, way too gifted, or Kylo Ren has the worst master in Snoke. Really, outside of needing to blow up another death star, Rey being basically amazeballs at everything first try made her less of a compelling character to me, and made the movie worse overall. Like, how much does Luke really need to teach her? Like just a few pointers? Clearly she can nearly beat a "trained" Kylo Ren, how hard can it be to make her better?

The problem with Vader is that the prequels can't be R rated, and you need that level of gore and depravity to capture his fall from grace.

It's implied and stated he killed children, but you don't see it for obvious reasons.

Anakin's fall was clumsily done, and his decent into the dark side was rushed. The reason Episode 2 is pure hot garbage is because it tried to do too much. They needed to set up the clone war, they needed to create a love story, and they foreshadowed his descent. And somewhere in there, they had to dick around with the Battle of Geonosis.

The prequels were atrocious because it was supposed to be about Anakin, but you got Gungans, Lucas rough ridin' around with digital filmmaking, and then crap like Obi Wan fighting Grevious in Episode 3 that did nothing to forward the story.

The problem is that 20 years ago, when Lucas commited to the prequels, he decided to build the universe and not stick to a core story. It wasn't until The Matrix that a franchise started building true canon in a multimedia format. Disney has mastered it with Marvel, and they're executing the same strategy with Star Wars, but you can't change that the prequels happened.

Hell, TFA was practically a reboot because you had to wash the stench off. There's a reason you're getting a post-Clone War barrage in TV, books, and the Anthology. Disney and Lucasfilm are going to do everything they can to make the prequels a footnote.
Title: Re: star wars
Post by: K-S-U-Wildcats! on December 28, 2016, 11:41:06 AM
My hope is that with enough passage of time, the prequels will be completely remade and "the Lucas prequels" are remembered more like the Star Wars Christmas Special.

But that's gonna take a lot of time. Just sweeping them away is no easy feat because of (1) their massive media exposure, and (2) their A-List talent. I mean, as shitty as the prequels were, they star Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, and Natalie Portman. Even Hayden Christensen was a pretty good choice - it's not his fault the writing was garbage.

On the other hand, Hollywood has remade plenty of other movies. We're on what - our fifth of sixth iterations of Superman, Spiderman, and Batman? That's about 4 or 5 remakes too many for Spiderman. But Star Wars just feels like it is on a different level. Tougher to undo what Lucas did.

The best way is to build around it.

For starters, all of the Old Republic stuff is bad ass.  There is a dearth of content in legends you can mine.  There's the old Sith Empire, the Great Hyperspace War, Revan, the Rakkata, the Eternal Empire, etc. To put Vader in his proper perspective, you have to see how the Sith operated. To get a true appreciation, you have to understand how his story differs from Plageus, Bane, Revan, Sideous, etc.

What people who don't dive deeply into canon miss is that his castle was on Mustafar, and it's there because the Emperor wanted to screw with his mind. The reason he was in the Bacta tank is because he's in a constant state of pain and near death. His suit was designed to be extremely uncomfortable because the physical pain and anger draw him more deeply into his dark side power, and the features of the suit were created to enhance his force abilities. However, there were limitations to his treatment and equipment so he wouldn't be able to defeat the Emperor.

And that's another thing the films don't touch. The Emperor is a complete and utter manifestation of evil. He is constantly trying to kill and replace Vader, since that is how the Rule of Two works. But Vader kept killing those who the Emperor tried to replace him with. He was always mentally torturing him about how he killed his wife, hence why his castle is on Mustafar, so every time he looks outside, he sees the place where he killed his wife, lost to Obi Wan, and descended into madness.

Vader is, by far, the most fascinating character in the Star Wars universe, but there's so much you can't do with him in PG-13 movies.  I mean, for Christ's sakes, he crash lands in a planet, a child helps him find a way off the planet, and then he kills the kid.  It's in the canon.

Guys, the original movies are just as bad as the prequels

The original movies, non-special edition, are the greatest pieces of film ever made.

The Empire Strikes Back is so good, it will be looked at like we look at plays from the Elizabethan era.

I'm pretty sure the name of the first one was start wars but then have no idea if the empire strikes back is the second or third or if return of the jedi is. also, I've seen the one with ewoks in it two or three times but don't really think I've seen more than just parts of the others.

Guys, all the movies are good in their own way.

these are right.  if you balance out how just as bad and equally good mean that they're all kinda stupid and fun.  except for the last one before this current one which is probably the worst movie ever made.

I agree that there's plenty of fodder for spin-off movies filling in the blanks, but that doesn't fix Jar Jar, and midiclorians (I'm not even gonna bother googling to spell that right), and Anakin's horrifically implausible conversion, and Padme literally dying of a broken heart, and Jar Jar, and Gungans, and all the other crap that was so terrible in that abomination of a trilogy. I want a better origin story, not just adding pieces around the edges.

Agree.  It sucks because after Rogue, I want more vader, but it locks in with the original in such a limiting way.  I wish Disney got ahold of the rights before the prequels were made.  They could have made some bad ass vader flicks.

My god, when he stabbed the last guy through the door....

hmmmm, I never knew DV got his arms and legs cut off and also fell into a volcano.  I thought the suit was just for intimidation, kind of like Shredder.  I mean I know his skin is all messed up in that last SW movie where he takes his helmet off but I thought being on the dark side just turned you really gross and ugly, like what happened to the Emperor.  Thanks for those informative posts Panjandrum.

x-post from kids thread: my 4 year old is the biggest star wars fan in the entire earth that has never seen a star wars movie. he has the character encyclopedia and can tell you about all these characters who I have no idea about. the other day he told me r2d2 could fly and I was all, "haha, you're such an adorable little idiot" and then he showed me in the encyclopedia that he has like jets or some crap and apparently even flew in a movie or something that I've probably seen. going to just break down and let him watch the movies.

also every time we go to disney world he gets to pick out one thing. so the entire trip he'll check out merchandise and towards the end he'll tell us what thing he wants. the last two times he got light sabers. like legit cool ass lightsabers that make lightsaber noises and when you bash them against something they react like a lightsaber hitting another lightsaber. first he got lukes. next trip he got darth mauls and makes me use that one because it's a bad guy light saber and I have to be the bad guy.

his favorite character is just a stupid storm trooper. he has a storm trooper outfit and mask and crap. loves the silver one who is the "boss" of the storm troopers. I think this is because they walk around disney studios like interacting with people and then they march around and the silver one bosses around the white ones and stuff. no matter what we're doing we have to just stop and follow them around the park for an hour each time we see them.

my wife will read the encyclopedia thing to him at night and doesn't know crap about star wars. he'll come into my room in his pajamas during story time and ask me what something is. I'll be like, "that's an at-at." and he'll yell back at my wife and be like, "SEE! Daddy says it's an At-At, not an A-T-A-T". I have no idea if that's accurate but I've always said "At, At" instead of spelling it out like a downgrade.

I glanced at the first two pictures and if you don't look hard enough it looks like 5.  I also never said anything about stuff orbiting being fictional, just the 'time' frame being it.  Don't be a cocksucker about honest mistakes about the leg thing.

Just read new Solo movie a flop, and Disney cannot figure out why.  Durrr...
Maybe people are tried of diviance being crammed down our throats.   Pansexual Lando.
We want the Force.  Solo is dead, and no one gives a rat's fart about predead guy.  Make the new hero a man.

Solo is taking place after Maul got cut in half by Obi-Wan.
Can someone tell me the relative ages of Luke vs Han?

darth maul has a brother or dad. I know about the brother/dad from SWGOH. there's a guy that looks exactly like him but like a tiny bit bigger. or maybe he's just an alien and all the aliens have that same face paint or whatever.

there are also like over a million characters that aren't even in the movies. I also know this from SWGOH. I like to only play with the ones from the movies though because I don't know if the others are cool or not. this is actually lil sd's strategy and I've just adopted it.

That guy in the movie is definitely Maul. He is listed as Maul in the credits. Also he has a robot bottom half.

Well I read an article that said you get a brief shot of his robot bottom half...although to be honest it was so quick that I missed it in the movie.

went with lil sd. he's seen all of them and is a grizzled vet at 5 yo. sat through all of Last Jedi with only one pee break. he liked that one better than Solo. he loves storm troopers and the light side and dark side of the force because I think it makes good or bad clear. I like Solo a lot though. I like Han's backstory, how he got his name, his overconfidence, how the actor backed into the character, etc. It seemed natural. I liked how Lando was played a lot but think the writer/director/whatever went to far asking him to be over the top. chewie is old AF. didn't see that coming. I thought woody did a good job playing his guy. was super cool. and han's shooting first thing was cool. Qi'ra was a fantastic character. hope she gets to come back in other movies.

Post by: K-S-U-Wildcats! on June 20, 2018, 04:24:02 PM
Solo was fine, but that's all. The actor who played Han did fine. Lando was great. The droid was annoying but thankfully didn't get much screen time. The lead female had lots of screen time but was given absolutely nothing interesting to do and I can't even be bothered to look up her name.

The problem with Solo is that the story was boring because it was completely inconsequential to the overall Star Wars story. With Rogue 1, you got to see an awesome, previously untold story that was central to the franchise - the events immediately leading up to Ep IV. Solo was just two hours of checking the boxes on Han's backstory. The Darth Maul reveal felt contrived and pointless.

This is a fun order:
IV, V (Luke finds out about his father), II, III (II and III act as flashbacks), and then VI, VII, VIII, ....Episode I is optional.

You could start with Rogue One and then start the above order.  Solo can be watched at any time IMO.

This thread had me curious about how people overall rank the movies, so I googled. Pretty much unanimous of agreement that the first two are the worst. I didn't even expect to see IX in any rankings I googled. But it was there. And usually not far behind the first two, which is not a good sign AT ALL!

But it doesn’t mesh with the last Jedi and pays Tons of fan service

I thought it was just ok. Some fun stuff and a lot of stuff that made no sense. It's about on par with The Last Jedi.

It was great. Few surprises/shocks for me:

-Rey and Fin make out session. Thought Fin and Rose were a thing. Came out of left field.

-Anakin returns and is now bad again. Pick a side idiot.

-Ewok whorehouse.

-Death Star v4. That’s about 2 Death Stars too many.

-Trash monster makes another appearance. Thought that was a one movie monster.

-Space Pizza. ???

-The rapping alien guy

People are really not liking IX very much.

I liked 8 a lot more.  Seems like Abrams either didn't have a plan or just scrapped it and decided to do something completely different with 9.

8 was basically 2 movies with Rey & Luke being good & everything else sucking. Going a different direction with 9 made it a much better movie than 8.

Laura Dern being smarmy alone ruined 8.  And Benicio del Toro randomly helping them turn turning on them as a cheap was to get the caught, then out of jail, GMAFB.

Spoilers but not the biggest:

I didn't like the emperor coming back out of absolutely nowhere and backtracking Rey's heritage.  The scene in 8 where Adam Driver tells her that her parents were nobodies was absolutely fantastic.  9 was a decent movie on its own but I think it was a poor end to the trilogy.

Totally agree on Dern going over the top in 8.

Starting the saga with the girls tonight (if the 8 year old remembers to bring book home & does her homework before I get home, so actually less than 50% chance).

I’m starting to think about starting with Rouge One, but I think I’ll lose them going from new to old picture quality.

I’m struggling with this. I think I’m just starting 4, 5, 6 just for picture quality so I don’t lose them going back to old ones after the new ones.

I just started Kenobi. On Sunday the 8 yo walker in and said “Are you watching Star Wars? I want to watch Star Wars.” That was the trigger. I’m happy about it though.

This is a good idea. I’m curious how the 8 yo would handle “everyone from this one is dead except Leia & Vader” then going into another movie.

I never noticed, but Darth Vader talks while the breathing noises are happening. 6 year old asked “does his suit make the breathing sound for him or is it just making his own breathing sounds louder?” She then spent the next hour trying to breath loudly & talk at the same time before determining the breathing sound is the helmet taking in/out air to supply for him to breath, not his actual breathing, and it just sounds like breathing.
