Interesting season for a lot of reasons. Now we're left with wondering what comes next. What is certain is that Spring Training comes in just a few months, and Royals baseball begins again in earnest in March. Can't wait.

Before 2011, these 4 had never played in a uniform as a Kansas City Royal. The 7 years before 2011, KC had averaged 64 wins. These 4 played together for 7 years

The past 5 years, counting the 22 playoff victories, KC has averaged 65 wins after June 1.

Thanks..... For an Unforgettable Ride

Pretty cool flash back in time.

I'll never forget these guys guys coming up in September of 2011. The season was a lost cause, but the young crew led KC to a pretty successful last month.

A few months earlier 810 started crowing about Baseball America's praising of the Royals farm system.

Baseball is not likely to see a group do what they did as a core from rookie ball to the World Championship.

They are Forever Royal.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

There probably have been some worse teams over the past 20 years or so than next year's Royals team is going to be, but I think next year's team will probably seem like the worst in franchise history to me.

What a strange first day of the offseason. At least three coaches let go, looks like Rusty is finally going to get the roving minor league instructor slot he's wanted, Ned admits in his presser that game management and strategy aren't his best skills, and Dayton may leave. Stay tuned, guys, it's gonna be an interesting next few months.

I'm coming around to don't sign Hosmer, and have Duffy on the trading block starting in spring training but wait for the right deal, whenever it comes. Blow it up. I'd even listen to offers for Salvy.

Could we get a couple of decent starting pitchers for Duffy? I've been thinking that might be a wise strategy.
