I don't think I'll ever be a best man, which is kind of a relief. I don't have any brothers and only one other guy in my close group of friends is brotherless, so I guess we'll see what happens with that.

I don't think it has to be a brother, but many people feel like they are very close to their brother so they pick them...I was the best woman in my sister's wedding (or whatever it is called) and visa versa.

Is this limited to groomsman only? If I can count usher and that time I was a bartender and the 5 year old was kicking me in the chest and telling his buddies, "Hey look! There's a dead guy over here!" out back of the Knights of Columbus Hall, then it has to be like 15-20, maybe more.

Just groomsman, then 6, I think. I am everyone's friend, but not best friend, and that's okay!

same here. ushering is by far the best. i've probably been in ten weddings total. best man once. ring bearer once. four groomsman and four usher.
