that you got to listen to the rest of your life, what would you pick? You never got to hear a song from any of the others again, and you can't choose a greatest hit album of any sort.

Other Sports (Tiger's Back) / Yankees Baseball is hurting
« on: September 07, 2014, 03:55:47 PM »
They spend on that money and aren't even going to make the playoffs. Jeter Day, The Royals in town (they're Super Bowl) and they can't even score a run.

If Duffy doesn't get hurt, I guarantee they don't score a run this entire series. What an embarrassment to the game of baseball.

Essentially Flyertalk / Who is goEMAW's Current #1 Binger?
« on: August 03, 2014, 02:45:33 PM »
8manpick has held the title for as long as I can remember (age 3). So who is next in line? Who has been the Binge Prince and is now ready to take on the Binge King title? How will we be able to judge? Well, we're all best buds here so we can all be taken at our word. Are we judging by drinks slammed per week or per night of binging? If it's per week, everyone will have a tough time beating waks.

Kick-Ass gets my vote, and Sin City is really just there for people who haven't seen Kick-Ass. It has it all.

- Awesome action sequences from beginning to end
- Comedy
- Great soundtrack
- Nic Cage
- A girl who says lots of cuss words and kills lots of people in awesome ways
- A rocket launcher
- A guy in a microwave
- Nic Cage
- Outstanding directing

Essentially Flyertalk / __________'s Typical Post
« on: July 18, 2014, 10:24:31 AM »
You name a poster, and give an example of their typical post. Exampe:

Rick Daris: long run on sentence that you honestly think may never end but he's explaining something to you that he thinks you should know and really that everyone should know. rhetorical question? oh my god lol lol lol here's the answer to rhetorical question and i just can't believe you didn't already know that. well let me go on about this in another run on sentence and never punctuate or capitalize everything because that would just take too much effort.

Other Sports (Tiger's Back) / Official NBA Thread
« on: June 25, 2014, 03:22:47 PM »
I was trying to find a thread for all NBA things, but all the NBA threads are pretty specific. Now we have one!

Anyways, I was laughing at The Heat trying to lure Lebron back by getting a better PG. Sad to see Chalmers' career come to this.

Well, we all knew it was coming. But at the rate his going Metalhead's liver would give out in the next year or two. It obviously does not have the stamina of waks' liver. So he has decided to check himself into rehab.

I'm dropping him off Friday morning. I don't know the details of this rehab, such as whether or not he'll have his phone. So this may be the last time you are able to wish him luck and give him well wishes on his journey to sobriety. He goes in and out of denial of said upcoming journey, so his reaction may range from gratitude to attitude depending on when you catch him. Join me in wishing him the best, and sharing your favorite memories of him being sober (if you have any lol) in order to encourage him on the difficult road that lies ahead.

Essentially Flyertalk / Horror Movies Thread
« on: April 19, 2014, 03:53:37 AM »
This thread is ONLY for fans of horror movies.

There is a pretty fine line between a great horror movie and a really terrible one. But some terrible ones are so bad that it makes them great! What are some of your favorites? I just watched "Let The Right One In". Very original, I enjoyed it a lot.

My current favorite is probably "Child's Play 2". Every set in every scene is so perfect and the deaths are so fun.

The most disturbing one I have ever seen is definitely "Martyrs". Hard to recommend it to people because it could mess you up for a while.

Don't get me started on "Evil Dead", the original or the remake. So good in so many ways. Just absolutely top notch horror flick right there.

And then you have the really fun ones that make fun of the entire premise and are basically meta-horror movies like "Scream" and "Cabin in the Woods". I could watch those on repeat.

Essentially Flyertalk / Help Stevesie60 Name His New Band
« on: March 29, 2014, 12:40:48 PM »
Going for a weird mix here. The Pixies meets 80's punk like The Misfits and The Ramones. We're a trio. We don't have a name.

Do any of you have any band names you be willing to donate to the cause?

Essentially Flyertalk / Friday Snack-Off Revisited (3-28-14)
« on: March 28, 2014, 01:36:17 PM »
Let's just take beef off the table since 99% of men in America would choose that. Burgers and steaks are hard to beat. So if that's not an option, what meat would you eat for the rest of your life if you could only choose one?

There are just so many things to consider, are there not? We're talking the rest of your life. So you may want to go a healthier route so you don't die at the age of 40. Maybe it's worth it to you, I don't know. But I'd like to find out! (hence the poll). And if you don't choose pork, sorry bud, no bacon for the rest of your life. Maybe you're thinking long term and want some versatility so you don't get sick of eating the same damn thing all the time. Well I think chicken might be the best route for that. Can you imagine not having some boneless wings with your bros for the rest of your life? Woof. Seafood emcompasses all fish and shellfish, but if your a Kansas resident you're going to have to factor in the cost of eating fish all the time. And if you're a strict Catholic, this might be your only option.

As for me, I will be choosing pork. Porkchops, pork tenderloins, hog hammers and pulled pork would make it easy to switch it up a bit. What say you?
