I think this was addressed during one of their zillion renovations, but in the early 2000s, when A&M would do their swaying thing with the fans, the whole damn press box side of the stadium would shift left and right with the movement - you could literally feel the stands moving back and forth (like being at the top of the Arch, but worse). If you don't know it's coming (I didn't) it's incredibly unnerving.

I wonder if they used the same engineering skills that they used for the '99 bonfire.

Ooof

we were all thinking it

LOL, I should know better than to listen to Rovell, at any time. They can't do crap with this practice field. Beautiful setting though. K-State played at that soccer field a couple of seasons ago.

They could have metal bleachers like for MPRD cookie league all down both sidelines and behind one end zone, then accommodate 95% of their fans with one enormous Husker-style oversized end zone bleacher that has about 300 rows and spills over half the soccer field. Pete, can we get a rendering of this??

I’d think they could figure out some kind of flotilla situation. Like imagine bleachers but on the deck of a carrier. Bonus: when they have a flyover for the National anthem the planes could just go land on the carrier, which would save a lot in jet fuel costs/reduce their carbon footprint

BTW northwestern has decided to go with this idea for football starting this season. I haven't found renderings yet. The way it's described is that the soccer field is going away and they will be sharing the football field with soccer and lacrosse. I'll try to find a rendering

Maybe they're centering a single field in the space currently occupied by football+soccer, and going all in on endzone funzones?

kono

It could be fun if they trot out orange slices and Capri Suns during halftime to the fans.
