Fun fact: SdK mom filed for divorce less than 24 hours after SdK dad called her a $!#*.

My mom is a stud. Also I agree with KCFD.

Celebrating someone's death ok.  Calling someone a mean name not ok.

http://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/proposal-for-new-westport-quiktrip-back-on-track

time to green light this bad boy

West plaza home owners hate this. Not going for the bait clams!

no, they actually don't.  a $!#* who calls herself the president of the west plaza neighborhood association does.  don't conflate the two, tia.

I think you do a great job of bullshitting all of us with your insane opinions, and that's all good fun. But calling a woman $!#* is not ok.

i don't give a crap what you think

That QT will be so great. I'll prob fill up at the Main QT tho, b/c it'll be closer to the park and ride. I wonder where they'll put the park and ride(s)?

don't really understand the "it looks like a truckstop" crowd, i think it looks like what it is, a giant QT which fits the needs of the people who rely on it, the one on 80 something and state line is big and doesn't seem to interrupt old leawood any

lol you're so hilariously predictable, and that "article" is nothing but an opinion piece.

THE LAST THING WE WOULD WANT IS FOR A BUSINESS TO MAKE MONEY!!!

Yes it's obviously an opinion....I haven't seen anything close to in depth from the Westport business group as to why their plan is a good idea...they can't even get their story straight on reasons why it's a good idea...but if you think the city giving away assets then you are quite the sly James shill. This is a dumb idea.

Nowhere is it explained how businesses will make more money with this plan.

tangientially related, via the vacant (i think still?) former berbiglia's: did you know they have a fried chicken restaurant at 87th & metcalf called Berbiglia's Roost? i just found this out yesterday. in the former Fuddrucker's building

i think that a cleaned up westport road that's home to an expanded qt would serve more customers.  many, many, people avoid that whole area because of the congestion.  qt is trying to help their public while at the same time improve their bottom line and i'm all for it.

of course, the guy who lives 5 miles away in downtown and doesn't drive a car wouldn't understand my concerns with the current situation but they're valid

the other option is that we could wait for the city to start pushing code enforcement and clean up the empty businesses along that area but we know they're too busy shoving their airport/streetcar agendas down people's unwanting throats.

Clams I already said if your neighborhood wants it...go for it...900 people signing a petition saying they don't want it doesn't seem like the plan was good for the neighborhood?

As a primarily pedestrian commuter I like to make sure all forms of transportation are accounted for...not just the drivers blazing in on Westport Rd that need their taquito.

I'm all for expanding and improving qt as it's one of my favorite places...hopefully their redrawn plans address your community concerns and they can move forward.

Lastly I hate the new QT store layout but that's a different thread .

hopefully QT shutters that location and moves elsewhere, just like the rest of the closures in its immediate vicinity. and the space sits vacant for 20 years. that should give julie and her merry band of dickheads an opportunity to show us how to design and run a gas station the right way

get who?  this issue has nothing to do with me and i really don't care much about it.  westport will always be westport, a place that i don't go to and only drive through, regardless of what happens here.  it is odd that the city seems to be standing on the sidelines as much as they are though.
and don't try to draw parallels with the qt situ because there are none
