Being able to flipturn will give you almost as much cred as the lat slap thing. Practice those flipturns.

Gonna have to get nose plugs for this. I killed myself the other night trying to do this.

You would lose all cred with nose plugs.

I have done a lot of shopping around in whey protein and other protein powders and shakes.  There is nothing I have found that beats the Protein to Calorie ratio of Premier Protein.  They sell it everywhere, but you can get it a Trader Joe’s (which to me affirms its legit) and Costco in bulk.  It’s expensive tho, so I buy it in bulk from Costco. I just picked up some ON Gold Standard whey in chocolate and some PB Fit peanut butter chowder for shakes when I have more time to eff with it, but they have less Protein per calorie than the Premier premade Shakes.

Pete it might be a tad more expensive but the beef protein powders from Julian bakery will give you more protein per calorie. I've used them and most of them taste v good too, except I've heard the cinnamon roll flavor is nasty af. Chocolate, vanilla and glazed donut canco are all

This looks pretty good, thanks for the suggestion!

That is fantastic.  You are a much larger human than me though, because when I lost 35-40 pounds I went from 36-38 waist pants to 30-32 waist pants.  You have way bigger bones than me.  Weight loss is tougher for big dudes.

i've always just been a "big guy." one thing i'm hoping to get to is just a completely new "normal," where 215-220 is my normal weight range as opposed to rough ridin' 275.

unfortunately it's all the corny crap you always hear. do something that works for you, think of it as a lifestyle, not a quick fix, etc

Great job blast you are like the poster child for solid execution on a great plan. The weight loss is the primary benefit but hopefully you are seeing some nice secondary benefits too like improved cognition, sleep, and getting sick less as well.   The medical stuff like lower blood pressure, less inflammation and improved cardiovascular health will kick ass for future blast as well.

The app called "Strong" is really great for lifting.  http://strongapp.io

You can build your own workouts, then it tracks your weight reps and sets for each individual exercise and you can monitor it over time....tells you what you did last time in that exercise, even if it was in a different overall workout routine.  It also allows you to configure a rest timer that automatically starts when you record your weight and rep number...so for example after I finish my reps for a set and record it, it automatically starts counting down 2 minutes, and an alarm goes off.  It also records your overall work time and stuff like that.

There some handy charts that show you your top sets, and total weight volume for a given exercise over time.

question on keto diet, looking to gain muscle but stay lean.

say 2200 on a normal diet is the amount of calories i need to gain a certain amount of muscle. does that mean with keto, something like 2600 would be needed for the same muscle?

and if so, would body fat be higher on a 2200 normal diet or the 2600 keto diet?
