BSFS Expansion Thread

Doing all that aesthetic stuff on the East side is going to be quite expensive.  Frankly to get more utility out of it, I would prefer that a new indoor facility be incorporated into the new East side if and when that happens.    A new indoor facility on that side could be used on game days to host thousands of people in pre-game festivities. 

There is enough room in the space north of the East side and to the East of Vanier to house a facility the size of the indoor practice facility.  Barely, but it's possible.

Hey guys, honest question here.

Having just finished my Junior year of high school, I never really got the chance to experience BSFS before the east side erector set was built. Did it make the stadium considerably louder? Was it just as loud before, so we could just build another WSC on the east side for tons more suites and luxury stuff to make us have like the classiest stadium on earth, without losing the loudest/best home field advantage in all of FBS?

With a tip of the hat to our EMAW architect elites who are working on the Kyle Field project, as they are only doing what the client asked them to do and can only work with the money that they have.   But with nearly $500 million to spend, I think aTm would have been better off starting over from scratch.    While they are smaller, both UMinn and Baylor built nice, brand new stadiums for between $275 and $300 million.  aTm could have built an incredible 80,000-85,000 seat stadium at the same price per seat as TCF bank Stadium and stayed right in line with the money that they raised.   But in a typical bout of CultAggie little man syndrome, they had to have more seats than Texas.   Extra seats that I predict will sit empty more times than not.   

The trend in modern stadium design is to understand that luxury and amenities trump seating capacity.  But I guess CultAggie is counting on their diploma mill that now churns out about 10,000 plus graduates a year if you count Fall commencement to fill the place up.
