Dayton has been good at drafting if you count the prospects that we traded away for our World Series. Those players were good enough to convince other GM’s to deal with us.

Recent years have been a bit disappointing but, as a whole, Dayton has done pretty well.

Draft picks Hosmer, Moustakas, Duffy, Holland, Merrifield have all made significant contributions. As Pete mentioned, guys like Wil Myers, Brandon Finnegan, John Lamb, and Sean Manaea were all promising players who were part of trades that netted big pieces of our WS runs. Throw in the international signings of Salvy, Herrera, Ventura, and that is a pretty nice haul.

Sure, there have been misses and disappointments but from 07-15 Dayton has the fifth-best draft results in the AL in terms of WAR.

Agreed. I'm giving Dayton the chance at a fresh start after a few bad offseasons and multiple lousy decisions. This year we'll suck bad but we'll stockpile draft picks and be good in about 2022. Plus every 5th day Duffy will be on the hill and make the team watchable so whatev let's just roll with it.

I was very pleased with DM up and until late 2015. He's been grossly negligent since then and should be canned.

Duffy is meh for me, and has never pitched 180+ innings in a season, so I think you're a little delusional.

I think that same account advocated earlier in the week to take on the Yankees center fielders monster contract and get their 3b prospect and trade them bubba starling in an effort to get them to sign Moose for >50 million so we cole ultimately get another high draft pick.
