There was already a big difference between the book and show, so there is a fair chance the ending could be different as well.

I am pretty sure they even made the distinction when one of the characters mispronounced it and the mother corrected them.

Even though I had predicted almost everything it was still a very intense ending. I was really fearful for Celeste's life when they were in the car.
