Kansas State Football / ESPN Ultimate Big 12 Road Trip
« on: April 24, 2012, 12:25:11 PM »
Might as well call this thing Ultimate EMAW Road Trip.

Quote
Week 1: West Virginia vs. Marshall
Week 2: Kansas State vs. Miami
Week 3: Texas at Ole Miss
Week 4: Kansas State at Oklahoma
Week 5: Texas at Oklahoma State
Week 6: West Virginia at Texas
Week 7: Oklahoma vs. Texas at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas
Week 8: Kansas State at West Virginia
Week 9: Notre Dame at Oklahoma
Week 10: Oklahoma State at Kansas State

Also, there's this from the newest post about the KSU/OSU game:

Quote
Manhattan will be Manhappenin' (sorry), and one of the nation's most underrated atmospheres will be at full throttle in what could be a prime-time matchup. Kansas State will be fighting for a BCS bid once again, and this one might well decide plenty in the Big 12 race.

Texas and its ESPN partner have approached Kansas State as a possible second game to be broadcast on the Longhorn Network this fall. As of now, only the Rice game will be shown on the network, assuming it finds some carriers. Asked to confirm KSU as a partner, Dodds texted that Texas is "looking at all of our home games."

Two of the eight categories have already been voted on, but you can vote for the other six (Industry, Personalities, Sports, Education, Retail, Community) right now. The Cuisine category results are full of LOL's since the Top 5 choices are full of Topeka places, but the Destinations category results are pretty much dominated by MHK. Basically, it's a website run by Topeka news outlets for Topeka 'tucks.

Kind of a lot going on in this website, but at least they have a coach who will allow something like this unlike OBz. Also, click on the Adidas tab and you can see what I would assume to be their new uniforms. Pretty minor changes, but they look a lot better than the tramp stamp unis from last year.

Career plans for the 25-year old DUI recipient:

Quote
Morningstar — he received his degree in communication studies last May — plans on playing pro ball somewhere next season.

“I think keeping on playing would be the most fun now,” Morningstar said, acknowledging he’s not sure what career path outside of hoops he’d pursue.

“I see Charles Barkley and those guys on TV, I would love to do something like that,” Morningstar added of getting into broadcasting. “I feel to be on such a high level, TNT or something, you have to be an NBA veteran or all-star so people recognize you. I think that would be the most fun, you sit around a studio and talk about basketball. I’d like to stay around the game, maybe get into coaching later in my life, something like that.

“I’ve got no clue what’s coming up. A lot of those decisions are made after the season is over. There’s a lot of season left. We want to make it last as long as we possibly can.”

He even has his own Free State High School fan club:

Quote
“He’s definitely known around here,” FSHS senior Alec Heline said. “But it’s not like he’s a hero or something. I still look up to him. He’s a fun player to watch and it’s kind of crazy that he went here.”

is officially EMAW. If he wasn't your favorite rapper after he tweeted his support of EMAW during last year's K-State/KU game in Bramlage and the Pinstripe Bowl last week, he probably will be now.

Pretty entertaining game between Cal and the Hoiclones on FSN. Looks like they were able to get all of the water off the court at Hilton, probably still smells terrible, though. Also, LOL at those hayseeds and the corporate logo that's on their court. http://www.pioneer.com/home/site/about/business/

Dear faculty, staff and students:

This year our home basketball schedule includes a men's basketball game
with Virginia Tech at 3 p.m., Tuesday, November 16.   This is a
wonderful opportunity to showcase our university and basketball program
since the game will be nationally telecast on ESPN as part of their
College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon.

Obviously, a Tuesday afternoon game poses some unique challenges for our
academic schedule, which will not change due to the basketball game.
Classes will be in session as usual for the entire day as will evening
classes.   All classified and non-classified staff are expected to
maintain their normal working hours.   Student-athletes, cheerleaders,
pep band members, student managers and others who may have activities
associated with the game are responsible for alerting professors in a
timely manner in advance of the absence and for coordinating make-up of
any work or tests missed during the absence.

Traffic on and around campus, particularly near Bramlage Coliseum, will
be heightened as fans arrive for the game. We have been informed by
Athletics that normal basketball parking procedures will be in place for
lots at the Sports Complex.    Basketball parking will open at 1:30
p.m., 90 minutes prior to tipoff.

All faculty, staff and students are asked to be aware and allow extra
time and caution as they move about campus that afternoon and early
evening. Safety for all fans is important.

We are looking forward to a great basketball game – Go Cats!

Provost and Senior Vice President
