I mean, we have tried the Matt Butler type thing at LB before and it's just a disaster.  Take a fast dude who is kinda not nice and make him be a linebacker.

On one of Twitter college football stat accounts, they had him the highest rated Big 12 Center. :frown:

What's honestly crazy about that is he only played the spot for exactly one year and already drew such high accolades. Pretty big testament to Dickey's work in insisting all of the O-line basically be able to play all spots along the line.

Oddly enough they were in this same situation almost the same time of year last year because two Juco signings weren't up to speed yet. So they moved Risner and inserted Navjar. It had its growing pains early but holy cow they molded that unit into a machine pretty darn quickly.

Its a blow, but sure does seem like they generally manage to find guys to step up rather quickly and well

Chabastain Taylor looks very impressive. Big body with good hands, snatching a lot of balls away from dbacks.

rumor is that Cre Moore is in a walking boot. not thought to be overly serious. would expect him to be available come 9-2.

I'd assume the other players who were reportedly out may have been precautionary?

He should play and start but the staff will probably make him "earn it" by waiting till he's an upper classman.

Hardly a tidbit, but hopefully this is evidence that Strickland is good to go. Had heard/read some concerns since he wasn't at the open practice earlier this month.

Let's just do what Mangino (one of the greatest football minds of our generation) did and turn some QB's into  line backers.  Bill copied it once already and it worked fine.  Let's copy it again.

Alex Delton would probably destroy people at LB.

I view that as a good thing.

I lived across from Matt Butler a couple years after he graduated. His wife was very pretty, and reasonably outgoing gal. She used to come over if I was out on the front porch burning a heater, shoot the crap for awhile and go home. Always during the day though, never when her husband was home. One night my roommate and I were having a few beers on the front porch and she decided to come over and drink with us a bit. She said that Matt was out of town, so she was bored and wanted to hang out. Matt was not out of town, he came home about thirty minutes later, and I've never seen a woman so terrified in my life. She scurried back across the street and she never said a word to us again and we lived there for almost an entire year after that. I get the feeling that Matt might be the jealous type. There's your fall tidbit, you rough ridin' animals.

I too, umm, uhhh, lived in a house across the street from these two.
