Talked to a KC buddy in the construction biz, his firm does a lot of large projects and he's on the biz development side charged with keeping up with upcoming projects, liaisoning with architectural firms, suppliers, facilities, and planning staff at government agencies and larger businesses etc. etc.

He said he'd be surprised if rendos hit before Oct. or November for our long awaited renovation of beloved Memorial Stadium.

sounds like a butthurt grape that can't accept the fact that k-state will suck after snyder dies and ku is a rising program under great coach Beattie

He's actually seeing dollar signs (depending on how they bid it, which will be dictated in how they finance it, and they will need financing if the private contributions are paid out over years).

Financing as in bonding? Or borrowing against their endowment? Can they even do that?

Just curious. Will be astonished if they get tax money for it considering they got shot down trying to get bonding for the Rape Tower they built for their athletes.

If KU goes into even more unmanageable debt from this. More power to them! Lol

WTF... is this going to be some kind of cheap message board now? I mean they just got the first Kansas Jayhawks/Rock Chalk up earlier this week.

... or are they trying to turn this into a game, keep us all wondering what the stadium will say next?

KU athletics had to go steal an "N" from a nearby gas station in order to finish the "IN" part of the daily puzzle.

Now we see why the barcloungers are gone.  Had to elevate their game.  Welcome to the endzone club!

Win win for the 'Hawk fans.  Place to get hammered while their team is being hammered on the field.  And, they get to shut off more empty bleacher seats and make cut capacity down at Memorial.

Not a chance.  Got home from work and logged on and read today's news.  Is on both the Wichita Eagle's and the Kansas City Star's websites.  All I could think was "It has begun...the sleeping giant that is KU football and stirred from its long slumber."  :excited:

With that in mind, I am still a bit confused why they didn't keep the barcalounger area on the other end of the stad, and at most just upgrade it a bit.  That way, you can squeeze even more KU fans spending some coin in to drink at the games.  Need all the money they can get for the new facility.

It's perfect.  I'm thinking the same thing as lib, it's only temporary.  They can just fold it back up and get rid of it when it's time for something more permanent.

KU football is a sleeping giant and always has been - beems

If LHC Bill Snyder had been hired at KU years ago, we'd have a national championship in football and a couple more BCS bowls. - beems

Reminds me of a "VIP Experience" type area at a NASCAR track. and for some reason, I have a feeling that's exactly what they were going for. BIG TIME for them.

I dont get it. Why do that now when you supposedly have renditions on the way for complete renos? So its just temporary lipstick then. Or is that a permanent eyesore they are gonna keep?

Those hawks are going to get totally annihilated on beer and wine and then drive home. Seems like a lot of liability for the university to take on

An season club membership is available only to Williams Fund donors as a companion to their already purchased season ticket for $400/each.  There's going to be 7 people in it.
