Texas being anywhere on the list automatically puts its legitimacy at about a 0.

Looks like the SEC coaches ganged up on Clemson. It's interesting to see a team get 7 first place votes (second most) and end up at 5th overall.

I think it is literally just the closest counties to each school in the top 25.  Mostly pointless but still interesting somehow.

That map screws Sedgwick County as most of the county and a big chunk of Wichita is actually closer to Manhattan. According to Google maps Central and 235 is the midpoint to Stillwater. I don't think anyone with knowledge of Wichita would mind giving south Wichita to Oklahoma. Julius Rib Cage would need to move though, switch places with Pig In Pig Out.

I can not in good conscious sign off on a Julius / Pig in Pig out trade. I will however sign off on a Jet BBQ & Bite Me BBQ trade for Julius. Hell, I'll even throw in Delano BBQ to sweeten the deal.

Yea, I mostly agree. The flip side would be that if you can "hold" a large chunk of that map over a substantial amount of time, you could theoretically pick up casual fans from out of state and grow your fan base. Which is really common sense.

Agreed. Unfortunately, I bet both end up undefeated going into that game. You'd think an undefeated Cats Sooners matchup would beat FSU v. Louisville and Bama v. Tennessee. Hopefully we wouldn't get screwed with Bedlam being two weeks after.

Agreed. Unfortunately, I bet both end up undefeated going into that game. You'd think an undefeated Cats Sooners matchup would beat FSU v. Louisville and Bama v. Tennessee. Hopefully we wouldn't get screwed with Bedlam being two weeks after.

TV powers that be won't be able to resist 'Bama. They drool crimson.

Bama vs. Tennessee will be on CBS. I can't remember the last time that game was visited by gameday.

Probably a good point, MIR.  :)

I think when we played OSU in 2011 Gameday was at Bama/LSU even though the ESPN crew called the KSU/OSU game.

Has tOSU at #1.  If that POS metric had any credit prior to this weekend, it doesn't anymore.

If you read the description of the index, you can see that it's more an indictment of the big 10

FPI has always been garbage. When it first came out ESPN pushed it nonstop. Not so much anymore.

They should just drop it, it takes into account way to many things that dont happen on the field (mostly recruiting). Like, lolrs at thinking this teams is going to be 8-4. For fucks sake Tejas is #23.

Glad to see an un-feated Florida State team still in the top 25 and also Mississippi State staying in the top 25 despite getting pulverized
