Loll'ing at the ku rubes got me looking at our 2017 schedule. Needless to say, it sets up nicely for the Cats
Center arKANSAS - They went 10-3 last year :surprised: -- W 67-3
UNCC - this isn't a country club or community college :dunno: -- W 49-10
@RR Tycoon U - beat a couple SEC teams, and plays in the SEC, so unbeatable per Disney Sports :ohno: -- W 27-13
Rape&Battery U - imploaded last season after repeated rape and abuse coverup allegations proved to be true :blindfold:- W 42-28
@New Air Raid Offense - same downgrade roster with a CUSA offensive mindset -- W 31-16 :billdance:
Stripper Drillteam :nono:- last season implosion overshadowed by Rape&Battery U implosion - W 38-17
Paperclip U - biggest game of the year against reigning dr pepper champs, hired Madden64 POY as HC - W 36-35 :whew:
@Wagner Field East - these guys are a continual abomination, incapable of success in spite of tens of millions of $$$ of conference welfare  - W 42-13
@ole defense - kliff is great bc he's too loved to be fired , W 52-38
Hillbillies - actually looking fwd to this one, traditionally balanced attack, but we seem to have Dana's number, W 28-24 :schemed:
@MulletFuckFace - my gawd, if we lose to these assclowns by one score for the seemingly hundreth time in a row I might break this rough ridin' bbs, W 49-12
TornadoCardinal - lol, these guys suck, however, they thoroughly enjoy rough ridin' the conf in games like this :runaway: better be on our toes, W 17-14
-
This is gold, Jerry...gold!
-
Finished :footballspike:
-
Solid take. Win them all.
-
Who do we play in the conference championship game and who wins?
-
Who do we play in the conference championship game and who wins?
Prolly the hillbillies, and of course we win.
-
I've been informed by another person in my life that after the 5th loss Bill retires and Sean takes over.
I think that's a garbage prediction but I really don't know anything about anything so I'd rather us just win all the games and stuff.

Oklahoma State- 38-41 L
Iowa State- 37-24 W
Beat Oklahoma State in a rematch in Dallas. 3 or 4 seed in the CFP.
-
I agree with cas on the overall record, but I have us left out of the playoff. Big 10 1 loss team, PAC 1 loss team, SEC 1 loss team, and ACC undefeated get the spots.
-
I agree that we would be somewhat unlikely to make the CFP with a loss.

12-0 regular season
Beat OSU 38-31 in the Dr. Pepper
2 seed in playoff, beat USC before losing to Alabama in the championship game. :( but ultimately :ksu:
EDIT. I'm all in. 14-0. Cats beat Bama in a real football slugfest of a game. 25-24 3OT.

If we are in this situation I fully expect Snyder to pull an Osborne and say he is retiring after the year so the CFP committee gives him 1 shot to rule them all.

Very true. It would be be one helluva a trump card.
My guess it would be announced before the Big 12 Championship game - to also help motivate the youngsters besides garnering added press for the qatz.
-
If we were to lose to a team this season, who would be the best to lose to in terms of maximizing CFP chances?
I would almost say Texas. One, it's Texas. Two, I actually think they could have a pretty solid season this year. Three, early in the year.
Oklahoma State would probably be the toughest to come back from, mainly due to how late in the season it would be. I would think that we would have to be already in the Top 4 and Oklahoma State would be in/near the top 10. But it is still very doable if that would be the only game we were to lose.
Warshington lost last season to USC at home by 2 TDs in mid-November and still made it in.
-
I think it would be Texas. I don't think Texas will be all that good, but the Texas name keeps the loss from looking too bad, and that would hopefully mean we beat OU twice.

Early in the year is a big factor

Forgot about the Osborne card. If Bill plays it with us having 1 loss, then we are in. Timing of his announcement would need to be orchestrated by someone else, not him...he would eff that up.
-
I think we have a solid plan here, guys. Kinda getting pumped!
-
If we only lose one game this season we're more likely than not to get into the playoff. How many 1 loss teams have ever been left out? I can think of 2 -- TCU and Baylor back in '14.
Fact is, there aren't very many 1 loss p5 teams out there. And even if there happen to be more than 4 one loss teams this year, it's weird to assume that we'd be the ones snubbed.
If we go 12-1, we'll probably be in the playoff.

Clams is super paranoid about this season. His nervous shits started in spring. I tried to tell him how good we'd be, but he won't have it. :frown:

when did "how good we're supposed to be" ever matter to k-state football?

Everything matters when it comes to KSU football. :Wha:
-

1998 and 2012. Both seasons before those were huge momentum seaons to push us to greatness.
-
so what you're saying is that more often than not, it doesn't matter at all, got it
-
11-1 reg season. 3 way tie atop the B12 standings keeps us out of championship game. OU (w/ losses to KSU and Ohio St) beats Okie St to keep B12 out of playoff.
-
we could go 14-0 on a 12 game schedule, doesn't matter. we're still going to fall short. it's the k-state way

losing to Texas, while easily could happen, would really put a wet blanket on this season. I desperatly want to be undefeated going into that OU game. That atmosphere and build up would be so amazing.
-
really hate to be that guy, but let's please not talk about Texas until it's "Texas week". we must all focus on Central Arkansas at this point, 1 game at a time you guys.
-
I'm firmly in the we finish with several more wins than loses camp.
-
Undefeated regular season and a loss in the championship is the heartbreak that I deserve.

Especially if it's to an 11-1 OU team and they end up going to the playoff. I don't think I could handle that amount of KITN

The measure of love is in loss and love will never be lost on me. That's how I will deal with it.
Think i stole that saying from a Jason Mraz track.

If anyone is interested, college football reddit has been simulating the college football season week by week based on user voting and random number generation. Each new week comes out every MWF from what I have seen. If you have a google account feel free to participate. So far we are 4-1 with a loss to Texas.

when did "how good we're supposed to be" ever matter to k-state football?
Um, i think that's the way it's been since Snyder has been at KSU. His teams are known to win almost every game they should win while losing most games they shouldn't. So, if the team is supposed to be good this year, I would expect them to do some good things. I think that likely means a loss or two based on a few bounces.

Snyder 2.0 teams average 2+ spots better in the standings than where they are picked in the preseason poll. So, picked 3rd this season = Dr. Peppers? :billdance:

this dork box has us tied for 3rd with shaggy aggie

Everyone says cats football is gonna be good, but is it looking like we'll simply out-talent people?
Cuz that's what Snyder's very best teams have done.
That's also what I'm hoping for. And lots of penalties -- mostly the personal foul kind.
-
I'm thinking 9-3 or 10-2 for the Cats.
-
15-0 beat OU x 2, then FSU then ?AMA. Jesse wins Heisman, Reed wins Thorpe and team ranked top 5 GOAT.

we were ranked #6 preseason in 03
-
my predicto is 11-1 regular
beat osu in the rematch
make cfb playoff
lose horribly in the first game

yes but also lost to marshall a slack ass texas team and a mediocre osu team, if dr peppers are all you want go cheer for ku bball
-
That season was lost because Ell got injured. You're listing one example of a team that "failed" to meet expectations and 2004 doesn't count. MOre often than not, with a returning QB, the team improves season by season.

 thats not what a #family would say, i was at almost every game that year both home and away, we crap the bed plain and simple.
-
The loss to Marshall mumped that teams momentum up so much. And it was because the keys to the shiny new Porsche was in the hands of a dingleberry from McClouth, Kansas.

did Dennis not drop a td in the end zone to win? Also be careful what you say about dylan

I think we'll be 10-2 w/ losses to OU and OSU but I'll take that, weirdly. Does mean we would have 12 wins.

Are you being serious? Did you watch that game? You thought Dylan was the QB for Christ sakes. Dylan did have one snap however and fumbled and turned it over. The entire game was a crap show. Ya, Davin mumped up a catch, but we lost that game because of Mcclouth boy.

dylan did play. My main point was about Dennis
-
I am revising my prediction for us down a game from 1 conference loss to two. I still think we lose at OSU, and now believe we'll lose at home to OU. TCU now scares me as well, because they man handled Arkansas on the road.
I don't think we are any worse/better than I previously thought, but OU is light years better and TCU is much tougher than what I thought.

I was way more pissed off about Schwinn pitching the ball to Marshall for a TD than I was about Dennis dropping a pass.
-
I am revising my revision down to 7 wins this year. A winning season tho!
-
I am very heated about this ballgame.
-
I'm not enjoying it that much. First drive of second half - let's get some offense going.
-
I'm putting Baylor and KU down as sure wins. The rest are going to be messy.

-
Easy wins: WVU, KU, ISU, and Baylor
-
After watching OU and OSU yesterday, I have serious doubts that we'll lose a game this season. FTR, I'm counting Vandy as a win bc we got straight mumped on two TD calls.

No way Jose. You have somewhat supernatural predictions this year, I admit. But on this you are wrong. I doubt we score a TD on them.

You apparently missed one of their players leading their fans in a singing of sweet caroline after today's game.
