The hash rate for LTC should be in direct correlation to the BTC hash rate. For those not familiar when Charlie forked BTC and created LTC he changed the mining algorithm so as not to compete with BTC. The idea was to allow miners to mine both BTC and LTC simultaneously and not one or the other, which is the case with Bitcoin Cash right now and why/how so much hash power can alternate between the two.

While these are insignificant coins right now, they will grow tremendously going forward. It's still a long way away from the major benefits of cross chain atomic swaps but this is very exciting news.
