I feel like unless we have one or two recruits ready to immediately produce at PG we will be worse.

oscar is targeting spring juco mid-majory PGs.

so, yeah.

Remember how exciting it was at this point in the season over the past 6+ years?  That excitement is gone and I'm not sure when it will come back.

17-15 would get us into the NIT. Win a couple of games, maybe three, 20-win season  :Woohoo: for all tuckville.

With oscar, I'm afraid we're in for more of the same... Somewhere around .500

I could see us anywhere from another 15-17 to the leap to 17-15.

With that said, I'm firmly of the belief that Snyder could take over this group and get them to somewhere around 22-10 to 24-8 pre-tourney just by better knowing how to work with young people.

17-15 should still equal oscar unemployment, imo.

I agree wholeheartedly.

The thing is... I'm also convinced that this team has as much "talent" as any of the teams during the Frank era.  If you've ever heard the saying "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard", then you'll have to look no further than the 2014-15 version of K-State hoops for a good example.

oscar has created a culture of lazy, excuse makers.

I'm not sure why most people think this year's team was really talented. The talent was certainly good enough to win more games, but not better than any Frank team. On par with Wooly's last few years probably (which had adequate talent IMO). And yes, any lack of talent is on oscar ultimately.

Foster is a legit all league caliber player, but had a poor 2nd half of the season. Gip/Nino as HM all league types is about right, but that was their ceiling. Outside of those 2, the other guys just weren't there. Perhaps Johnson, Westicles, or even Edwards could develop to that point (I'm hopeful for it actually), but they weren't at that point this season, and I didn't expect them to be. I'm also hopeful that a couple of the new guys next year will be contributors to go with Foster along with someone else who returns getting much better. I'm also hoping for a healthy enough DJamer which I think could help a lot.

The team just reflects the coach. Remember oscar didn't start sounding alarms about attitude problems until the late December collapse. It was all excuseville after sad, no-effort outings against LBS and Pitt.

Jevon's stats aren't close to Frank's. Of course, Frank was a Juco.

He was pretty comparable to Clent IIRC from the comparo threads before everyone realized how overmatched Jevon was.

Tough to have a lot of optimism when we're hoping for that much to happen.

SO Jevon vs SO Clent vs JR Frank (you can compare different seasons for each player after you click the link)

http://statsheet.com/mcb/players/compare?add=frank-richards&clent-stewart=2005-2006&frank-richards=2002-2003&i=1&p1=jevon-thomas&p2=clent-stewart

Jevon simply isn't a good enough "distributing" PG to put up with his complete inability to score. If he was over 10 assists per 100 and cut down his TOs significantly you can probably live with no scoring, but he's got to get a lot better at that other "true PG" stuff.

This is the problem with oscar, I'm not as down on the talent level as some of you.  It's just that oscar is not capable of moving guys to the next level of play and physical ability.

I predict that Claws will be the poster child for this.  Not bothered in the least by the level of high school ball, because by all accounts he destroyed 5a and 6a guys and performed well on the AAU circuit.  oscar though, will not elevate his game to where it could go.

I quit following recruiting. Are any of those guys #shooters? Because oscar needs #shooters in his offense. It was pretty easy to predict that we weren't going to be a good offensive team this year because, well, not enough #shooters.

So unless we have a #shooter influx coming in, I'm going with more loserville, population: us.

At this point, I wouldn't be shocked if Wade starts at the 4 next year by mid-season over Harris.  It will be GREAT PR for oscar.

To be 100% honest, if Jevon transfers and we get DJamer back (healthy), I think we'll be a bubble team.  The recruits don't look like they suck, but that's all a crapshoot for us, anyway.
