Of course, it wouldn’t be Northfield Mount Hermon if there weren’t a stable of big youngsters waiting in the wings for their opportunity to shine.  Lexington High School transfer Josh Sharma is tops on that list this year and he showed it on Sunday morning with a couple of high level plays to scream of his athleticism and upside

Kansas State offered 2015 Corona Centennial (CA) PG Sedrick Barefield today.

Quote from: @Compton_Magic
Washington and Kansas State were in the building to watch the Magic's Sedrick Barefield. Magic Nation!

http://future150.com/hs/basketball-profiles/sedrick-barefield-pg-2015

Quote
Strengths:
Barefield is a monster in the open floor. His ball handling ability is fantastic and he has great court vision.  He loves to score in transition but can knock down the open jumper if left alone.  His strongest attribute might be his ability to run a team to perfection.  He has a good pace to his game and has the basketball IQ to put his team in position to win.

Weaknesses:
At 6-foot he needs to focus on being a point guard and maybe hunt his shot a little less.  Tends to over dribble at times and needs to get the ball out of his hands.  Can dominate the ball and must learn how to play without the ball in his hands.  Must get stronger and work on lateral quickness to become a better on ball defender.

Looks like it's Lowery out in Socal visiting Bell this time, hopefully he checks in on Barefield. Barefield looks big-time, along with the KSU offer, he's also reported offers from UConn and BC with interest from UCLA, USC, Arizona, Washington, Michigan and others. 1 recruiting website ranks him as the 33rd best prospect nationally in his class.

Quote
Teaming up with Joseph in the Cushing backcourt is the explosive Jalen Adams, a 6-1 combo guard. Adams, a sophomore, already has verbal offers from Providence and UConn. Pastore thinks many more offers will be on the way.

"Jalen is an elite-level athlete, and a guy who simply scores the basketball," said Pastore. "He can score in a number of acrobatic ways, he has great explosion, and he really plays over the rim.
"Jalen made a name for himself this summer with the Rivals, and he'll be a wonderful complement to Kaleb at Cushing. I am sure Maryland and many more schools will be following him closely in the next couple years.
"He's one of those guards who simply knows how to create separation from his defender."

I like the idea of going after potential high-level guys early.  Seems like low risk, high reward, and you have the chance at developing a rapport with a player that may eventually convince him to go to a worse school than some that get in on him later.  If he doesn't pan out later in high school, you just lose the hours you spent recruiting him.

Don't disagree. #4 is impressive considering it's back to back plays.

I hope he teaches our guys to shoot 3's like this. Also, it's worth watching the last full minute of the video just for the announcers.

6'5 small forward? Jesus. Shane is 6'6 and is undersized against about 90% of the teams we play.
