Illinois hasn't gone to back to back tournaments since '06/'07.  They haven't been to the tournament since '12-13. They haven't had a winning conference record since 2009-10.

oscar may be under performing here, but he's certainly head and shoulders above what Illinois has done since they canned him.

oh yes definitely. they followed up a bad hire with a worse one. i don't think anybody would argue oscar is the worst coach in division 1.

he’s doing here, exactly what got him fired from illinois.  they weren’t ok with it but somehow some of our fans are.  it’s bizarre and it’s such a small minded mentality that ravages our fanbase.

They thought they were better than oscar which has obviously not been the case. Sad.

And most logical fans have taken a step back from then. He has talent on the roster and he played in a crap conference and failed. Hard! Also, one of their top players is transferring now.

i'm sure you know and others know more about it than me, but i thought Frank's offenses at k-state weren't very highly regarded.  and even if he was a genius offensive mind, like you pointed out, there's a lot more to being a "great coach" than x's and o's.  so far he's kind of fallen flat at U of I.

also cannot figure out what illinois knew about oscar that we don’t, it’s all so confusing

regardless, we’re really lucky that oscar chose us over his many other options
