Call it Stockholm syndrome or just time, but I am coming around to the fact that we probably should appreciate oscar more than we do. Or at least I should. He's just so god damned dorky and not in the way that produces super smart ideas leading to great success. I've also begun to convince myself that Frank would've left on his own anyways (my current rationalization to get excited for the '17-'18 season).
On the other hand, we were so rough ridin' close to being a program, with a consistent identity. That's something we don't get with oscar. So yea, some of us will hate on oscar because he's not Frank and that is the way it'll be until the end due to the situation that led to Frank going to South Carolina.
Unless we pony up big time salary wise it'll be tough to get and retain an elite coach in MHK. Unless of course we have some former player from KS that is EMAW (oh wait, he coaches in Champaign, IL).
At least I have a reason to watch more Big Ten basketball now.
Also, oscar's Saint Louis pipeline -- how will it be affected by Cuonzo? Maybe not much, assuming Cuonzo can compete more nationally for talent.
