Mike McGuirl, East Catholic HS, CT Basketball Club – While Silva was one of the biggest stories of the beginning of the grassroots season, McGuirl made more waves than almost anyone down the stretch of July, in the final week of the month to be precise. A true three range scoring threat, the CBC and East Catholic guard caught fire in Orlando and saw his recruitment jump several steps in the process. By the time it was all said and done, he hadn’t just become a mid-major priority, but had accumulated multiple Atlantic 10 offers and even one from Kansas State.

Moving forward, one of the most intriguing things about McGuirl to college coaches was that he was already a three range scoring threat yet still had his best basketball in front of him. He owns a pretty shooting stroke that is both quick and compact as well as equally good off the catch or the dribble. Combine that with good athleticism at the rim, a reported strong work ethic and the fact that he continues to improve and evolve on a consistent basis and his future is clearly a bright one.

Nigel.Shadd.  6"8", 230lbs,7"3" wingspan, visted yesterday.  Strong Christian from a small AZ school.  Tweetersd his visit was traffic.  I think he would be comfortable with Oscar.  A good one.

FWIW, 247 had Darien Jackson and Paul Reed favoring KSU as well.

If that is true, that's pretty much the whole class right there.  A combo, a SG, and two posts in Reed and Shadd*.

*Reed apparently is listed on most sites as 6'5", but I guess he's measuring 6'8" now and picked up more interest on the summer circuit.

I am pretty sure the staff pulled all combo/shooting guard offers when Mike Mcguire  committed.

The offers lists on these guys are frightening.   :horrorsurprise:
Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

I am not sure what Prep Hoops.com is, but they rank Nigel Shadd as the top big man in Arizona for 2017.

Levi Stockard is the number 2 rated player in Missouri.  I think coach Cornshucky may be a keeper.  I bet he was in on recruiting 2 quality big men for.us.  I noticed at.the scrimmage he was really jawing with bigs. Tall people don't like runts giving them orders.

None of those guys has a single power 5 offer. The best is for Stockard from DePaul and New Mexico  :sdeek:

Shadd had an offer from Washington State :dunno: Don't you live in that state? Pretty sure it's P5-ish.
