I've always felt to be a pretty good team you need at least 2 guys to make the first 3 teams (Top 15). To only have Foster on the 2nd team means we probably overachieved for the players we currently have, especially since we aren't really a bubble team at this point. Gip and Will finish with HM, if one of those two (or Shane) had stepped up and played 3rd team level we'd probably be looking at a 5/6 seed and 2nd or 3rd in the league.

good for Marcus.

I disagree with the POY pick and I hate the COY pick, that should have been Self or Lon. Also I think Ellis should have been second team over Holmes.

Tubby should of won coach of the year, IMO. Ellis was KUs best player this year, funny he was rated the 3rd by the coaches.

Lon should have gotten COY.  2nd place finish and swept Barnes UT team.

There wasn't really a dynamic POY candidate, so i tend to agree that it should have gone to Ejim.   Much like McLemore, Wiggins did not deserve it just because he was on a league winning team

Holmes on 2nd and Crockett on 3rd a little surprising.   Heck Texas has 4 decent players and Im not so sure than Holmes isn't the 4th most valuable of the 4.

Staten, Foster, Heild, Ellis and 1 other player likely will be preseason 1st team next season.

Lon or Self should be COY.

Don't really get Foster on Def 2nd team, but yippie for him.

Will even as HOM is laughable.

we should have a mixed-nutz outrageous post of the day.

Texas Tech is a whole 3 conference games better this year than last. That Perry Ellis point is

Did we end up with the number one defense? Impressive considering zero players on the all-defensive team

Is it unreasonable to think Westicles could be a 3rd team all big 12 player next year?

Not at all. I would even say I expect him to be by the time he's a JR, maybe next year. I think he can be very good here.

not unreasonable.  if he improves his shot, he could be better than that.

it's really curious.  there isn't a single player on the team i think is a great defender (i.e. i don't think anyone was unjustifiably left off), but the defense as a whole is obviously pretty good.  next year's defense will be very interesting.

Maybe we are just better at most teams in regards to maintaining the right man-ball orientation and reacting quickly for help defense. :dunno:

we seem really bad at that, too. But Baylor seemed to be the only team that could consistently make us pay for it.
