Did they record Bob Davis radio today?
« on: January 19, 2014, 12:45:31 AM »

Listened to him on the way home from our game today.  Started crying on air and threw an absolute fit the 1st half today about the refs rough ridin' ku over.  Feel so bad for them, officials always got it in for them every game.

Bob is pure entertainment....especially if Ku is losing.   I can actually listen to him and get a good laugh (even if Ku is playing lights out)

Gurley on the other hand just sucks.  He bitches and moans as if the college BB universe was against Ku.  Somebody get him an extra dozen donuts during the game, so he wont be so damn cranky

I can only imagine what he and Piper must have been like when Smart got the flagrant called on Seldon (at least I think it was Seldon).
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

:nono:

Incredibly annoying.   Bob Davis officiates the game as much as he calls it.

I do to.  And I also wish they did the first name thing for our guys too.

I was listening to the KU game in the car yesterday and thought the same thing.

It's truly terrible "journalism," but wonderful entertainment.

Bob gets so pissed at calls that you miss parts of the game with his ongoing bitching and moaning.

His calling of Royals games is impossible to listen to   The rough ridin' idiot knows nothing about sports.

Bob Davis is great.  I wish Wyatt was like that sometimes.  Mitch certainly was/is to a certain extent.  But having homer announcers is great.

Bob Davis is the equivalent of George "Bob" Uecker from Major League, if George Uecker's character was supposed to be sad, pathetic and ignorant instead of whitty, cynical and hilarious.

Ku [Klux Klan] fans are generally delusional and irrational about their team so its a perfect fit.

Has Bob EVER admitted that KU legitimately commited a foul?

No.  But, Gurley did several times as I listened yesterday, and Bob was just like "meh."

At one point Gurley was actually bitching that Wiggens was "... not getting superstar calls!"

He's the absolute worst. The emotion gets in front of his calls. Party foul 101.

Having a homer is one thing (I do not have a problem with how Wyatt comes across on the radio) but Davis is in a league by himself.  I thought Bob and Max FUCKINGSTEEN were bad but Davis and whoever he is teamed with this week are worse!!  Having Piper do a KSU game on TV is ALMOST as hard to listen to as Dave Armstrong.

It was literally the best he's ever been.  When Brown got mixed up in the KU huddle he lost his mind.  Also, hinted that the KU players should have beat him up
