It's nice to get a whole house/apt if you have a bunch of people and/or want to do some cooking. There are plenty of photos and reviews to judge a place. It's often less expensive than a hotel, and you can often get prime locations where the hotels are prohibitively expensive. I have honestly never heard anyone say anything negative until just now itt

I have used VRBO to rent condos in resort locations. Did this in Keystone and Gulf Shores and both were amazing.  They were places that are used primarily as rentals and not some dude’s home with his crap in it.

I will continue to use them in places like that.

Only times i've used Airbnb is in a big giant group where we rent a house with a lot of bedrooms.

My bad, guys. Working with Airbnb, my work, and the police still.

Will tell the full story when I think it's somewhat resolved or when I'm drunk/pissed because it won't be.

the north part of downtown is grody AF.  pretty much everything north of 9th street.  hope that stuff gets bought up and bulldozed.

Bulldooze what? Parking lots? Assume you arent implying city market is grody

no not city market.  i'm talking between 9th street and 435.  just a lot of parking lots and old decrepit vacant buildings.  seems like there's a lot of untapped value there considering the proximity to the non-shitty parts of downtown.

Yeah the popular theory is that land is being held for Kauffman II.

That whole area will look a lot different once the north loop highway is removed (hopefully}.

You can rent a room in someone’s house, it’s very common.  It was how Airbnb started.

I thought kauffman ii was pegged for southeast downtown?  at least in the last proposal i saw.

That's the other option.  Commerce Bank has held those north loop lots you are talking about for decades...assuming for something big vs. selling them out for redevelopment which they could easily do in the current market.
