Everyone - since there was no Royals game on last night, I decided I would break out my DVD copy of one of my favorite movies of all time, Three O'Clock High.

This is almost the perfect film. Buddy Revell stands with Bill the Butcher, Darth Vader and Beetlejuice as the greatest villains in film history. A must watch.

Anyone watched Hard Candy?  Girl that played Juno plays a 14yo girl seeking revenge on a pedophile that killed her friend.

Avengers 2 was a million times better than 1. I guess that happens when you ditch the worst bad guy in cinema history

"oh steve carrell was amazing in that!" i mean he was really different than Michael Scott, i guess, but the filmmakers really did not ask him to do anything. where was the depth of the character? oh he did cocaine once in a helicopter, wow, what a performance.

peggy po: they absolutely nailed the wrestler walk. you know where the arms are always kind of bent forward? channing and ruffalo crushed that.

on a serious note tho, i do like it when "comedians" do "serious" roles, because i think they're really good at it. i think most comedians can trace the roots of their craft to some type of defense mechanism or mask, to hide real emotions, etc., and sometimes when they get to do a really serious F'd up role, there's a lot of depth there. but as i mentioned earlier, there was nothing for steve carrell to do with this one.

i mean, the idea behind the praise for Carrell's role was that he played a super odd character that a lot of people probably couldn't have done, and was certainly different from any character he's done in the past -- even his non comedic characters (i.e. his role in the way way back).  i mean, the movie may not have been great (but a lot of people would argue with you [not me]), but Carrell did a good job portraying this very bizarre, spooky character.

and you should really get rid of that spoiler.  i don't care about it, but some people who haven't seen it might.

The wrestler is a better wrestling movie. Heck even the beginning of Spiderman has JK Simmons

I enjoyed the first one more. Mainly because they didn't kill off the character i needed to be killed off to trigger the infinity war. I hate knowing how the comics go.

Ex Machina. It's very flawed, but it's very good

i loved ex machina.  one of the best movies i've ever seen in theaters.  would be interested to see why broken sky thinks its flaws are.
