RJs....think I went there once, it was pretty okay.  The real disappointment in mission is Johnnies...omg that place, better off getting the ribq at McDonalds down the street.

Joe's KC lovers will never be LCs bbq lovers....too scary.

wanted to love it, love burnt ends.  But what i was serverd a Saturday before a Royals game was best described as charcoal.
Probably still serving actual burnt ends of brisket rather than chopping up the fatty half of the brisket and serving that as “burnt ends” as most places do now
:adios:

I have to say Phil, the one time we went to LC's I wasn't impressed.  I did laugh though when mrs. hamburg said she wanted some cobbler & the counter person refused and said "no you don't, it's nasty."

i’m not a early childhood development funding professional but we just approved $800M in go bonds which can be used on schools.  but slyin’s answer to everything is a new sales tax.  there’s also the general fund.

regardless, I really don’t think I wanna continue to underwrite the cost of other people’s kids education any more than I already am.  maybe to solution is to levy an additional school user fee.

I don't disagree with you. I don't think funding is the problem here.

I don't think the GO bonds can be used though.... Based on how they were voted on

yes they can, at least for the 20% he wants for school brick/mortar work

we don’t need to push another sales tax onto the ballot tho (through a petition initiative ironically), this crap is going to bite us in the ass

at least the way I remember the go bonds being written I thought new school/maintenance fit in the description

Is the KCMO USD still unaccredited?  Maybe another $2 billion on desegregation busing (worst social experiment ever) would solve that prob.

Agree we are at the top for sales tax capacity....I could be convinced if things like food and clothing were exempt if it was a great idea...I don't know this early childhood idea at all but doesn't sound that convincing.

That article didn't list political party...who knew you were so in tune with the political system of KCMO mayors going back 50 years.

KCMO is easily the most dysfunctional and incompetent local govt in the midcon.  It's like they try to do the opposite of what they should be doing.

You took the time to look up all past mayors to find their political party so you could claim some sort of weird local news media bias by Dave Helling. Hence my comment that the pit has broken your brain. Just here to help.
