The Scouting Report
In September, first-year head coach David Beaty will lead a very young Jayhawks squad back onto the field in hopes of making some noise in the Big 12. Beaty, who was hired last December, spent the last three years building Texas A&M’s passing offense into a record-setting attack. The Garland, Texas native will bring that same up-tempo, pass-heavy style to KU, where junior quarterback Montell Cozart will have the chance to light up the scoreboard alongside powerhouse players such as wide receiver Tre’ Parmalee and running back Ke’aun Kinner. On defense, linebacker Courtney Amick, defensive end Ben Goodman, and safety Fish Smithson will once again join forces to prevent opposing offenses from reaching the end zone and capturing the Jayhawks’ flag.

This thread has kind of depressed me so I'm going to go in the opposite direction.  I'm going to be Mr. Sunshine.

Forget your hatred of Zenger and BGL.  I want to hear best case scenarios.  What if everything goes right scenarios.

For example- what if some major big money donors step up and the fund raising exceeds everyones expectations.  Then the architects come up with some phenomenal plans for Memorial.  When the plans are released everyones jaws drop.  Everyone here, even the cynics and skeptics say "Wow!  That is perfect!"  Everything proceeds on time and on budget.  Even the underground lake under the stadium is controlled.

And then other things start to swing KU's way.  Over at that other school to the west, LHC Bill Snyder retires for good and little Snyder struggles as head coach.  K-State becomes a 4 or 5 win team.  The glory days are over.  Meanwhile Beaty has turned the program around. Suddenly KU has a resurgent fan base and a competitive team playing in the best, most modern stadium in the state.  Sellouts become common and the team goes to bowl games several years in a row.

That is what I think is going to happen.

Sigh

Other than the "sigh", this has to be the most unrealistic and delusional post I've ever seen on any relevant site.

It's sad his dream scenario is just going to a bowl game several years in a row. And they don't even have to be good bowls

Is there a P5 conference school in the country that has the basketball coach making $2.9 million a year more than the football coach?

Here is the website for the research: (you can switch between basketball and football)

http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/football/coach

If I have time I'll delve into it.

Coach K makes about $8,000,000 more than David Cutcliffe at Duke.

Bob Davis calling at best a 1-11 season (probably 0-12) will be pure entertainment.

"Coach, we saw the 'Hawks do some really great things out there today."

Does Bob use the same first name, buddy-buddy tone when talking about ku footballers, as basketball players?

Absolutely. Listening to them on Saturdays in the fall is great. Davis fits every typical KU fan persona there is.
